Born Knitty: Mario mushroom DS sock
http://bornknitty.blogspot.com/2006/08/mario-mushroom-ds-sock.html
Thursday, August 31, 2006. Mario mushroom DS sock. This is roughly how i did it:. A) Knit small swatch of background colour yarn. DK weight is the ideal gauge to fit the mushroom on one side. B) Measure no of stitches in 5 cm of swatch. C) Measure long side of DS in cm. D) cast on number of stitches = (b x c)/5. I added a couple of stitches to this for luck so the DS fits in snugly. E) Knit about 10 rows of background colour in stocking stitch (as a flat piece, not in the round). This is the chart i used.

Born Knitty: tanked
http://bornknitty.blogspot.com/2011/07/tanked.html
Saturday, July 09, 2011. In a feat of spectacular timing, I went camping this week, just after the sunshine ended and the thunderstorms began. There was a lot of sitting in the tent, listening to the rain and doing this sort of thing. Thank the knitting gods for headtorches! Obviously the sun came out again once I was back home. But at least I emerged blinking into the daylight with a finished tank top. I basically made this up as I went along then pinched the neckline from High Street. I put a bit of ex...

Born Knitty: 1up
http://bornknitty.blogspot.com/2009/07/1up.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Important to keep the chill off your electrical goods I feel. If anyone is wondering what happened to the recycled bit of green embroidery thread I was wittering on about in the previous post, here it is! I dug out some ancient 4ply sock yarn, knitted a 40-stitch stocking stitch tube, and cross stitched the mushroom over the top. I used to make loads of this. But haven't done it for a while - it's great fun! The Kelly Green Rogue. That is so aces! Get your bobbins 'ere.

http://bornknitty.blogspot.com/2008/08/rubbishknitterjunior.html
Saturday, August 02, 2008. I know I've been a bit quiet, but I've been busy! So here are some of the things I have been making recently. A son, born last Sunday. A slip stitch hat for newborns. The former was 8lb 12oz and quite cute. Oddments of Rowan 4 ply cotton in leaf green and purple, scrap of Debbie Bliss Cathay in turquoise (I know, this is a slightly thicker yarn, which is a Knitting Crime, but it was the most suitable scrap yarn i could find in the cupboard at 1 am! MC (leaf green): k. CC1: [k1,...

Born Knitty: Donkey Kong DS sock
http://bornknitty.blogspot.com/2006/10/donkey-kong-ds-sock.html
Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Donkey Kong DS sock. Due to popular demand after the success of the shroom. This is the image i used for the embroidery. You could only really fit a 16 pixel wide image onto my DS-sized piece of knitting otherwise i might have gone crazy and put the whole monkey on, limbs and all. I used scrap yarn for the whole thing. The gauge of the main yarn used is somewhere between double knitting and aran weight. How to make one, knitfaced style. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Born Knitty: tank top thursday
http://bornknitty.blogspot.com/2011/06/tank-top-thursday.html
Thursday, June 30, 2011. I'm starting a new blogmeme because I missed WIP Wednesday. I suspect I may be the only immediate participant (although I could probably talk round fellow tank top fans Audrey. I love tank tops me! It's silly, really, that I haven't made more of them so far. So this is one I started knitting last week to use up some leftover bits of lovely Shetland jumperweight, and to start on some beautiful Wild Fire Fibres Shetland handspun, from the trunk show. This pattern is also bottom up ...

http://bornknitty.blogspot.com/2011/08/growlithe.html
Sunday, August 21, 2011. Yes, it's time for another nintendo cosy! For a dsi this time. It's been a while. this one's for my teenage nephew who requested one with Growlithe ( fire breathing puppy pokemon. I can't resist these kind of requests, and I love pokemon so I set to work. Take one image. Make an incredibly oversimplistic chart about 20 pixels square. And embroider onto a stocking stitch tube. Puts hand up* I know who that is! Love all your geeky technological-device-cosies! Get your bobbins 'ere.
