A Yarn Too Far: August 2007

http://ayarntoofar.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html

A Yarn Too Far. Wednesday, August 22, 2007. This is so much fun! I've received and re-sent the package for Dishrag Tag. This is the package I received yesterday. A hand-knit dishrag in wonderful sunny yellow (thank you, Joan! Talk up in Aurora. I wasn't as fancy as Joan with a pattern - I just knit the basic corner to corner variety. Today after work, I rushed over to the Post Office and sent the package off to Ruby - next on the list. Anybody know where I can find more of these "tags" or "swaps"? She wh...

A Yarn Too Far: Yarn, Wonderful Yarn

http://ayarntoofar.blogspot.com/2008/02/yarn-wonderful-yarn.html

A Yarn Too Far. Tuesday, February 5, 2008. Yarn, Wonderful Yarn. I went to the Dentist this morning for my routine checkup. And as a few other plans had fallen through, I decided to console myself with a visit to Romni to pick up a small bit of yarn. I even had a shopping list of things I "needed"! I took the TTC down to Queen and Bathurst, but was too early, so had to treat myself to a coffee (and a Raspberry-White Chocolate Scone! Then into Romni just minutes after they opened. What was I thinking?

A Yarn Too Far. Saturday, September 8, 2007. What colour am I? You Are a Yellow Crayon. Your world is colored with happy, warm, fun colors. You have a thoughtful and wise way about you. Some people might even consider you a genius. Charming and eloquent, you are able to get people to do things your way. While you seem spontaneous and free wheeling, you are calculating to the extreme. Your color wheel opposite is purple. You both are charismatic leaders, but purple people act like you have no depth.

A Yarn Too Far. Friday, June 15, 2007. Now I've done it. I just saw this really cool competition online. Anybody want to join me? Now it's time to go out and enjoy the sunshine and quit goofing around online! Links to this post. Wednesday, June 13, 2007. I find this process of Blogging to be a little bit daunting. You see, I've started writing a Journal many times for many different reasons, but never stuck with it. Maybe this time will be different. So I guess I should tell you a bit about myself. In Ko...

A Yarn Too Far: UFOs

http://ayarntoofar.blogspot.com/2008/02/ufos.html

A Yarn Too Far. Saturday, February 16, 2008. What would we do without our wonderful friends? My "Cosmic Sister", Helen, has just been visiting with us for a couple of days, and she couldn't believe the number of UFOs I have. She gave me a really stern talking to and I have promised her that I would catalog them all, and that I would finish 1/3 of them before starting another (What was I thinking? That must have been a really weak moment on my part! Bottom Line - This is Number One priority for completion.

A Yarn Too Far. Friday, July 13, 2007. Walking Weekend Part 2 - Saturday. OK, so I've been a really really bad blogger! I wrote this back in early July, and delayed posting because of wanting to add Photos. And it's taken until now (September 26! To actually get the post up, with a few additions to the original. Last Saturday [July 7] morning, we met up with a friend from Abu Dhabi/Kuwait, who calls Hamilton home. Donna's on her way to Kabul to work, and is back home for leave. It was just a few items wi...

Yarnaholics Not So Anonymous

Yarnaholics Not So Anonymous. Saturday, 16 April 2011. I did buy some yarn myself in a little shop that sells mill ends by weight, here I spent £14.50 on various unbrannded yarn. I £2.50 worth of this was for my mother so £12.00 of my budget has gone. I have also just paid for the KnitPicks I have been waiting for since before the challenge stated with postage this was £19. So £51.26 minus £31.00 leaves 20.26. Saturday, 26 February 2011. The first to be finished was a hat. Next was a hat. I wonder how I ...

Monday, August 12, 2013. Well, it is August 2013. Well over a year since I last posted. Things have changed a bit. I'm done with the MLIS program. I expect sometime at the end of of August to receive a diploma in the mail that says I am the proud owner of a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science - or in other words, I will officially be a librarian! I miss Alpena a lot lately. I wonder what my life would be like if we had stayed? Would I still have earned my MLIS? I'm excited to get back to s...

YARNAHOY

Friday, October 28, 2011. Shawl, sweater and a topi! Since I've been MIA is such a bad way, I thought I'd do a big a$S post today. The red lace shawl was knitted by my friend in Portland who knits lace so fast, her fingers make a buzzing sound. I believe she used the Rock Island. Pattern. She used a silk wool lace blend that I had hand dyed. In case you're wondering, yes, this yarn went to the US and then came back to the UK as a shawl. Some yarns have all the luck.
