Chez Chelle: World Wide Autism Awareness Day!
http://chezchelle.blogspot.com/2009/04/world-wide-autism-awareness-day.html
Thursday, April 02, 2009. World Wide Autism Awareness Day! So, to celebrate WWAA Day, here's a few pictures of ChezChelle's favorite person with autism. Gillian rolling out pie crust. Which requires a completely different skill set than rolling out pizza crust. The pictures were taken about 4 days apart. Notice the new Rudolph nose in the second picture. Gilly has a nasty, wet cold and is home with me today. We might bake some biscotti this afternoon, just for a change of pace. Posted by Chelle @ 9:40 AM.

Thursday, December 30, 2004. A New Project and Cat Pictures! After my pre-Christmas rush to finish things I found myself without knitting after Boxing Day. This wouldn't have been so dismaying, but I had a long car ride ahead planned for December 27th. I used the two skiens of reclaimed sari silk/wool blend that Sarah had sent to me to try Amy's Flappy Bag (indigirl.com) It's drying pinned to a board and of course the photo didn't turn out, so you'll have to wait for the finished object. Look what arrive...

Wednesday, November 24, 2004. I'm knitting something for a little girl. She is 8 months old now, so I'm looking to make something a bit bigger than she is, say 12 - 18 month size. I've got a silly number of projects to complete before Christmas, so a quick knit is a necessity. Knitting from stash would be good too! With those criteria in mind, do you prefer:. Vogue Weekend Knits Mohair Sweater. Ok, which one should I make? Your opinions are appreciated! WARNING: GRATUITOUS CUTE PUP PICTURE AHEAD! And in ...

Wednesday, June 22, 2005. From the tyranny of unsuccessful knitting projects. I was looking for an illustration for "freedom".don't know if this quite hits the nail on the head, but hey, who doesn't love Opus? I've had a miserable couple of weeks (Without reliving them on my blog, let's just describe them as containing major issues with SN pup and her school/therapy and even school bus schedule that have threated to toss my usually thinly balanced emotional stability out the window.). The second item to ...

Saturday, March 21, 2009. Not with the knitting, although I did finish a couple things this week. Above is the Bias Shawl. S suggested pattern for Silk Rumple (discontinued). It's quick, easy and the beauty of the silk doesn't need any fancier a pattern to glow. And the Mini-Clapotis from the previous tutorial. Note the teeny amount of yarn leftover after doing the math! Gilly and I went out for lunch, picked up her sisters, returned home, did some cooking and dog walking.played the xylophone.unt...Frida...

Wednesday, September 29, 2004. So much for the Yarn Diet! After being shamed by the magnitude of my stash (see previous post! I vowed to "knit down" my inventory somewhat. That resolution lasted for all of a week. I had a babysitter last night and I happened to be in Knitomatic's neighbourhood. (Which is sort of like being on an Atkins diet and finding yourself outside a Krispy Kreme donut store). Well, pictures speak louder than words. I do have immediate, saleable plans for all of it! Ooooh, you're thi...

Thursday, May 26, 2005. I am petitioning to rename "Via Diagonale. Molasses", cuz it's as slow as molasses in January! Here is my progress to date, after some pretty serious knitting. Still 1.5 inches from completion. I shouldn't be surprised, the slipped stitches over two rows cause the knitting to be very vertically compressed (? And the gauge does state 11 rows per inch on 4 mm needles! Another way of looking at it, almost 200 stitches per row and about 100 rows to complete a medium-sized bag.). Crisi...

Monday, June 08, 2009. Whoever said that April is the cruelest month, never had kids in elementary school. The hands-down winner for punishment meted out to mommies is June. (ok, December is pretty hectic too, but December is busy for everyone.not just the parents of medium-sized kids.). Everything happens in June.playdays, birthdays, track and field days, Graduation (from Grade 6 no less), teacher retirements, jamborees, field trips, bbqs.you name it, we've booked it.in June. A couple quick pics. It's C...

Saturday, January 29, 2005. Here it is on the blocking board. It didn't need much fussing, just a bit of dampening and drying flat to remove a bit of curl from the edges. I'm rather pleased at how it turned out, although with the variegated yarn that is slightly thinner than the alpaca that pattern called for, the hearts don't stand out quite as distinctly as they do in the Knitty photo. Posted by Chelle @ 1:09 AM. Thursday, January 27, 2005. A second Christmas for me! Look at what was inside! Thanks Lau...

Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Half full, or half empty? I had two baby blanket projects on the go and one of them is still going. So is 50/50 an incomplete failure, or a partial victory? Part of the problem is likely my decision to use a double strand of a very fine washable wool that I have in my stash. Keeping track of individual stitches when using a double strand of yarn in nearly the same shade as your bamboo needles is asking for trouble.even before you factoring in the aging eyeballs! I don't know wh...
