Constantly covered in kids and yarn. Sunday, May 31, 2009. Originally uploaded by Selzhanik. My first quilting experience. I just cut a bunch of 2 inch strips and did a log cabin. Slightly lopsided, mostly because I didn't use pins until I did the border. This is about 27" square. I didn't want to try anything too big my first time out of the gate. Probably will end up being a doll quilt. Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Oh, I think I am in love with the mitered square. It is so small. Thursday, May 22, 2008.

Tails of a Sassy Fiber Monkeh | One sassy monkeh's adventures in the world of fiber
Tails of a Sassy Fiber Monkeh. One sassy monkeh's adventures in the world of fiber. Finding your Voice, and Cherishing Your Doubt. One of the things I’ve learned thus far in this whole “becoming a designer” thing… is that you have to find your voice. The problem is, that can often be easier said than done. Do I want to be known for beautiful lace patterns? Do I want to design items for men, women, children? Do I want to be known for a creative use of colour and texture? Pretty simple, right? Those thorny...

Thursday, May 08, 2014. Lately, some of my friends have been reviving their blogs, and I think I'm going to try to do the same. I miss having a place to write about my crafty projects, and participating in social media is great for keeping me connected to my amazing friends, but lacks the journal-like quality of blogging. So, without further ado. It's finally spring in NYC! Some of us in a fabulous yarn shop in Black Mountain, NC. Photo credit: Melissa McKelvey. I'm hoping for a sunshiny summer with a lo...

Skip to main content. Knitting is very conducive to thought. It is nice to knit a while, put down the needles, write a while,. Then take up the sock again." - Dorothy Day. This was my third year at Rhinebeck, and I went in with my third different strategy. BWAA HA HA HA HA! Oh silly girl, of COURSE I found something to buy. So, what was my haul? Small, but much beloved! Mill ends left. Oddly, I have never, ever knit with this yarn, so I thought it was time I see what all the fuss is about. This is the li...
