About The Yarn Museum + Circle of Advisors/Honoring the artistry and beauty of handspun yarn!

http://www.yarnmuseum.com/about.html

About The Yarn Museum. The Yarn Museum is, initially, a virtual site whose purpose is to honor the artistry and beauty of handspun yarn from spinners around the world. It went online in December 2006 and continues to evolve. Since yarn has so often been used to make other items such as hats, sweaters, rugs, this site delights in the (possibly) transitory state that yarn is in before it becomes the materials of something else - whether knitted, crocheted, woven or displayed in a bowl. Cindy Cole, Studioloo.

A Strand in the Hand. A chronicle of my obsession with sheep, spinning, sticks, and string. Thursday, November 30, 2006. A Strand in the Hand. A chronicle of my obsession with sheep, spinning, sticks, and string. Friday, October 27, 2006. As stated in my last post, I knitted the Green Serf Booties from the IK website. The upcoming baby for whom they are intended is an Alaskan with an adventurous mother. Therefore, he or she is going to need a pair of mukluks. As soon as possible and I thought this pattern could be nicely adapted to the look I wasa going for. I am happy with how the booties turned out, but had some. Anyway,...

Elizabethland!: September 2012

http://elizabethland-elizabeth.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Sometimes I feel like I live in an amusement park! Friday, September 28, 2012. The hat obsession has continued and moved on from Madd Hatter hats for people to witch hats for cats! The red one was a TDF prize donation that went to Canada! The turquoise one was a gift for a lovely dancer friend Edenia. The cat hats remain unfelted .then they may be too small for Dinah and Jenny Linsky after felting. That means I have to make some larger ones today. Monday, September 17, 2012. So take a look at that! And s...

The Weird&Twisted Weblog: 02/2015

http://weirdandtwisted.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. The knitting frenzy is still going on and I finished something else - the Sorceress. Hood I already mentioned. As I'm writing this I suddenly think I know where I must have made the mistake (I must have increased for the hood part on the wrong side), but now it's done and finished, and I like it. I think it's not even visible in this photo, but the rib pattern on one side differs a little from the one on the other side. Well, it's still a beautiful piece :-). Pattern by Purl...

The Weird&Twisted Weblog: A Day with Weird and Twisted

http://weirdandtwisted.blogspot.com/p/day-with-weird.html

A Day with Weird and Twisted. This article was originally created for the My Day is Friday Blog. But after having spent so much effort documenting one of our days (a random one at the end of June 2011), and after having had so much fun, we thought it would be nice to give it a permanent page on our blog :-) So, enjoy! In the split photos, you’ll find Weird on the left side. And Twisted on the right. Well, as I said, I work from home. I switched to a standing desk because it’s way more healthy f...I&#8217...

http://weirdandtwisted.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 24, 2014. Delirious Diva, Done. After my exams last year I wrote this blog post. Describing my new knitting project and the yarn I spun for it. I worked on it here and there, was distracted by renovating the house, a yarn bombing project, and work, so it took me a very, very long time to finish it. But now it's done, and I already wore it to a wedding. I also wear it regularly at home, as it's so warm and cozy. But let me get back to the knitting stuff ;-) The pattern I used is Line Break.

The Sheep Shack's Musings

Thursday, June 3, 2010. Time for the Back! I finished the right front yesterday on my Hanne Falkenberg Duet vest and it took about 15 minutes to figure out how to get the back started. You lay out the pieces with the right sides facing up and the Right front on the right side and the Left front on the left side (the cast on edges do not meet, they need to be opposite each other). Don't worry about what it looks like or how it fits (because it doesn't look at all like you think, and it doesn't fit! For th...
