Crafting reflections, anecdotes, and the occasional look-what-i-. Wednesday, June 18, 2014. My last post was about the seasons so it seems but. Fitting to jolt my blog feed out of its binary dormancy on a short, similar note:. Next time, a post about crafting, but for now, an image of a photoshop-blurred me with my best baby buddy* *. And that's it for now, dear reader, whoever you are, wherever you are, assuming you're there at all. June 21, 2014 at 2:06 PM. HahaI love how you articulate ;). I wish I wr...

This foldover clutch was, for the most part, repurposed from stuff I had lying around, namely:. A plastic placemat for structure. A polyester scarf/bandanna for the main fabric. Cream cotton canvas underlining. Corduroy for the lining and gusset. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A DIY Foldover Clutch.

Yarnovers and Such: May 2012

http://yarnoversandsuch.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Crafting reflections, anecdotes, and the occasional look-what-i-. Thursday, May 24, 2012. If I had to choose just one shape to have all my bags in, oversized boho sack bag would be it. Bag by Cleobella Ikat. Fabric bags are so practical to own, being washable and all, and the boho (hobo? There are actually a bunch of free boho bag patterns there that are very very similar to each other, but it's the Market Bag # 70221A. That stands out to me as the one with the best shape and just the right dimensions.

edwina: FO: Brioche scarf

http://proudunderachiever.blogspot.com/2014/02/fo-brioche-scarf.html

Tuesday, February 18, 2014. My friend Kathy is going to NYC at the end of the month and it’s going to be cold over there. She asked if I could make her a scarf that’s nice and thick to keep her warm. :). Modeled by Marc despite the heat. I used thick, milk cotton yarn and 6.5mm needles for a quick and cushy knit. I decided to use brioche stitches for this so it could be reversible. I knit it til it spanned 5 feet 3 inches (around my height). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Knitting with Lady Imana - Knitting Blog

http://ladyimana.weebly.com/knitting-blog.html

Knitting with Lady Imana. Photo grabbed from google images. My father adored Mona Lisa, there was a particular smile and enthusiasm on my father's face whenever he talked about the Mona Lisa portrait. What triggered my father's fondness behind that mystic smile I will never know. But there were times when I see Mona Lisa, it reminded me of of my father's charming smile. After realizing that I can knit illusion knits, I was inspired to knit Mona Lisa in my father's memory. So here is my masterpiece! Exper...

Monday, November 25, 2013. Proposed a KAL for us last October and she chose this pattern from The Purl Bee: Cap Sleeve Lattice top. The deadline was supposed to be last 31st of October, but I didn't get to finish it on time, due to both expected and unforeseen circumstances. So thankful that my KAL partner is so patient with me and let me finish a LOT later than we decided. And here is my Lattice Top, finally, 23 days late. hahaha. So proud of it! Some deviations from the pattern:. Links to this post.

Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Hello, I've been away too long - An update! Some people believe that August is a ghost month and is an inauspicious month. But that has nothing to do with my non-journaling here. haha. Its so ironic that the less things I do, the more time I have to write here. And when I get swamped with tons of activities and things to think about, I dont have time to document them. So lets reach a happy compromise here, why dont we? Lots of photos ahead :p). edwina: Up to speed

http://proudunderachiever.blogspot.com/2014/09/up-to-speed.html

Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Two years and ten months at this desk job and I feel like I have forgotten how to think out of the box. I know I mentioned in a few blog posts before how much I appreciate stability these days, but honestly, sometimes you gotta rock the boat to remember who you are and what you are capable of. I'm taking another big jump! Next month, I'll be changing jobs and hopefully I will feel like I have found the career/work-life balance that I want. More updates when it happens.

Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Just makes me wanna sleep all day on the sofa. I just had some green tea to wake me up. Been battling these heavy eyelids all morning. Luckily, it takes only a little caffeine to keep my mind awake. I hope everyone's having an OK week so far! To be honest though, I think we're all looking forward to the weekend. :-). Links to this post. Happy FO's: a crescent shawl and a kid's hat. But without further ado, here it is:. The yarn blocked really well, considering it's 100% acrylic!

Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Ooh, number 12! My Lily of the Valley hat pattern is in the top 20 free knitting patterns on Craftsy.com. *teehee. I was wondering why there was a sudden surge in downloads. :). May this inspire me to knit more these days! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I'm from the Philippines and I love to knit when I'm not working at my desk job, attending friend's gigs, reading, or watching movies. Documenting my stuff here! edwina: March 2013

http://proudunderachiever.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Last Saturday, I bought a toy knitting machine for cheap! Don't ask why I bought it. haha. It can knit a simple tube in the round, but it has an option for knitting flat pieces back and forth too :). I think each tube you knit comes out with 18 sts all around, so basically, you need yarn that is on the thicker side. That yellow tube at the lower right is what I made using the machine. In other news, I have a couple of photos to share for my current WIPs:. Links to this post.

Friday, April 26, 2013. Modified slip, slip knit for twisted stitches. Heres the modified slip, slip, knit (ssk) I used for the twisted stitches in my Undulate hat pattern. Once again, excuse the sniffling, the low voice, and the background noises. And heres the photo tutorial:. Links to this post. Modified K2tog for twisted stitches. For the Undulate hat pattern, I had to modify the knit-two-togethers (k2tog) and the slip-slip-knits (ssk) in order to preserve the look of the line of twisted stitches.

Friday, October 18, 2013. A photo of me, taken last night, to prove that I am still alive! So I havent been updating this space here. Bad me. But all Ive been doing in the past few posts is make excuses, so Ill just stop doing that. Lets just pretend there wasnt an almost-two-month-long pause. Whats happened between then and now? On the knitting front, zilch. I have completed a total of ZERO projects, but I do have two WIPs on the needles. Updates on those projects in the coming days. Marc and I have bee...

Yarn Over the Moon

Yarn Over the Moon. Health and Fitness Blog. Friday, July 13, 2012. Another amazing hand-made gift from my lovely friend Amber, who is a way better knitter than me :). She made me these absolutely GORGEOUS cabled fingerless mitts:. I don't even know if I could make these. and if I could, it would take me a month. I watched her make the 2nd mitt in just one night while we knitted together! Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Only 3 other people showed up (better than the 2 at mine at least! After the other ladies l...

Yarn-overs and Do-overs | Knitting, crocheting, and jewelrymaking, all tangled up together

Knitting, crocheting, and jewelrymaking, all tangled up together. Thwarted by my lack of faith in math. Posted April 20, 2008. Well, poop. I finished the Jolly Rancher Shrug, and it’s waaaaaaay too small. I couldn’t tell that until I sewed it up; the construction of circular shrugs is such that I’m totally flummoxed by the sizing. Apparently. I was really disappointed when I realized it wouldn’t fit, because I wanted to wear it! Who could have guessed such a thing would happen. Posted April 19, 2008.

Yarn Over The Rainbow

Yarn Over The Rainbow. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. I have made many pieces. I'm going to blog about my latest creations, instead of trying to catch up on months of post. I recently purchased African trade beads an have been inspired to create stuff with them. Tuesday, August 12, 2014. I made this trio of necklaces several years ago. I like the simplicity of the single teardrop crystal on a thin chain, but I didn't like the execution, so I remade it. I'm much happier with the result. Monday, June 09, 2014.
