Travel tales from a librarian. October 10, 2011. Kathmandu, 5th and 6th October. We arrived at the Radisson Hotel after midnight, which our bodies thought was nearly 3am. When told our room number, 238, my heart sank because I know the views are fantastic a few floors up. We entered the room and it smelled of smoke – oops, forgot to ask for non-smoking. We stopped to go to the toilet, and then proceeded straight on to boarding the aircraft. No time at all to relax, eat, shop or whatever one does at Kathmandu airport.
