What are Year 6 up to? Skip to primary content. This is the opening of a mystery story devised by Asiya (one of our most talented writers) during an English lesson. We had read an extract of Nick Hornby’s Fever Pitch, and used our reading comprehension skills to understand the scene on a deeper level. Chapter 1 The Big Match. As soon as the fans left the stadium, the arena fell silent as a ghost town. But that wouldn’t last long, since the mystery of the missing footballer had just begun.
