Gluesticks and Sticklebricks

The busy, busy blog of The Fairfield Reception class/. Wednesday, 29 September 2010. We had great fun today, exploring our giant sunflower head with magnifying glasses and all our senses - touching, sniffing and listening to the sounds it made. We found an earwig and a caterpillar living inside. We transplanted our old strawberry plants into the new raised beds and tucked them up tight. The Fairfield Community Primary. Thursday, 23 September 2010. We have made a wonderful start. Friday, 12 February 2010.

Gluesticks and Sticklebricks: We're Going on a Bear Hunt!

http://www.yearnfairfield.blogspot.com/2010/02/were-going-on-bear-hunt.html

The busy, busy blog of The Fairfield Reception class/. Tuesday, 2 February 2010. We're Going on a Bear Hunt! To help us use positional language we in Reception have been enjoying Michael Rosen's lovely retelling of "We're Going on a Bear Hunt". We went out into the snow yesterday and mimed walking through the grass, wading throught the river and squelching through the snow. This picture shows the children shivering as they huddle up against the snowstorm. Brrrrr. The Fairfield Community Primary.

Gluesticks and Sticklebricks: Fire in the Sky

http://www.yearnfairfield.blogspot.com/2008/11/fire-in-sky.html

The busy, busy blog of The Fairfield Reception class/. Monday, 24 November 2008. Fire in the Sky. We have been learning lots since our last post. Last Friday we even went out of school on an autumn walk. We kicked the lewaves about, they crunched and scrunched. We made a collection and brought them back to nursery to look at more closely. Come in and see them. Look out for our photos coming soon, or come into class to see them. The Fairfield Community Primary. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Gluesticks and Sticklebricks: If You Go Down in the Woods Today

http://www.yearnfairfield.blogspot.com/2010/02/if-you-go-down-in-woods-today.html

The busy, busy blog of The Fairfield Reception class/. Friday, 12 February 2010. If You Go Down in the Woods Today. We had a wonderful trip to the woods on Thursday. We learned to measure and use comparative language whilst problem solving. The child above is seeing if his tree is wider or narrower than the string. We also built shelters for wild animals using the natural materials of the forest. You can see pictures here of our duck nest, our robin's nest and our cosy fox's den.
