Noshing Across the Nation: Back to life!
http://www.yehudit-noshingacrossthenation.blogspot.com/2012/12/back-to-life.html
Noshing Across the Nation. Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Well, it's been a long time and a lot has happened in my life. Hopefully for the best. In any case, I have decided to continue with this blog promoting a few of my life-long passions - Jewish cooking (now, before Chanukah, is a good time, no? Jewish education, Jewish Travel, etc. I hope my long-distance daughter will still join me, at least in comments. We are in need of a healthier approach to food on the East Coast. Hope you will enjoy reading.
Noshing Across the Nation: July 2010

Noshing Across the Nation. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. My Daughter's Bithday Shabbat. For the last cooking assignment I’ve decided to make something that would be vegetarian and would remind me of the several places our people live in thought the world. I took the recipe from the “ Olive Trees and Honey”. Book (p.74) and it is under the name of “Moroccan Eggplant Relish”. Did I tell you that the book lists every dish’s name is the language most commonly used for it? Back to the recipe though:. In the same pa...

Noshing Across the Nation. Sunday, December 16, 2012. Can you believe that Chanukah came and is gone already? Well, I can't. This year not only I made a party, but I actually made real yeast dough sufganiot, thanks to my sister-in-law's mother's recipe. Tetya Galya, this one is for you:. They were not hard to make at all. Or, was it because I wanted to put my heart in them? Anyway, here is the recipe for you:. 1 tblspoon dry yeast. 3/4 cup warm milk (or water). 4 tblspoon sugar (I use raw). Here's an int...

Noshing Across the Nation. Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Here's a new salad. This is one of my favorite salads. Which looks totally unpretentious, but is packed with flavor. Unfortunately, the prohibitive cost of pine nuts here, in New York, prevents me from making it as often as I would love to, but for a special occasion it is just great. You may find this recipe on some Jewish Food sites or in some cookbooks, but I believe it's worth repeating everywhere:. 200 grams pine nuts. A bunch of fresh coriander.

Ink Stained Hands: November 2011
http://myinkstainedhands.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Not gone yet. ;]. Posted by inkstainedhands in exhibits. To make up for my silence these past couple of months, I'm linking to some of the things I've written for the YU Beacon recently. There's one about an exhibit of Janet Shafner's artwork in the Hebrew Union College Museum, titled "Dark Prophecies.". Then there is the article about the Medieval Festival. That occurred in Ft. Tryon Park on October 2nd. And finally, there is an article about my love for the Stern College Dramatic Society. Beauty of wha...

Posted by inkstainedhands in friends. Was a fun night.). I also decided to read the seventh Harry Potter book again, realizing that I missed experiencing the magical feeling of the series. Also, as with any book, there are certain things that become more meaningful or clear when re-reading. This often happens as a result of one's own life experiences, which expand with every day and allow us to see things under a new light. Why do we fail to realize the effect that that can have on a person, either direc...

Ink Stained Hands: September 2011
http://myinkstainedhands.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Shana tova, dear readers! Posted by inkstainedhands in Judaism. Posted by inkstainedhands in life. We pass by thousands of people each day - strangers who will never be anything to us, and strangers to whom we will never be anything. Those faces pass before our eyes and fade into oblivion - and with them, thousands of opportunities to connect with other human beings, to have even a tiny little bit of impact on their lives. Make the world a pleasanter place one action at a time. My first year in Stern was...

Ink Stained Hands: Breaking Free - part I
http://myinkstainedhands.blogspot.com/2011/05/breaking-free-part-i.html
Breaking Free - part I. Posted by inkstainedhands in college. The problem begins when the child becomes his/her own person, learns, reads, is exposed to new ideas, experiences the world, sees firsthand what life is about, meets new people, and starts to create his/her own understanding of how life should be lived. This is about someone who is finding a place in the world, who wants to live with eyes and heart wide open. Naive? Perhaps. But also introspective, thoughtful, informed? May 16, 2011 at 1:17 AM.

Ink Stained Hands: Hello Again
http://myinkstainedhands.blogspot.com/2011/07/hello-again.html
Posted by inkstainedhands in friends. I realize I've been rather silent lately. It is not because I have had nothing to say, but rather because there was too much to say and think about and I wasn't quite sure where to start, or whether to start. I try to keep a little divider between my blog and my real life and I am careful with what I share here, especially since this blog isn't anonymous. The rest of June and July I spent mostly in the city, meeting up with friends and relaxing for the first time sin...

Ink Stained Hands: That Within Which Passeth Show

That Within Which Passeth Show. Posted by inkstainedhands in literature. As I am writing this blog post, I am sitting in the auditorium of the Schottenstein Cultural Center, hearing Hamlet's desperate voice ringing from the stage. Rehearsals for Stern College Dramatics Society's spring 2011 production of Shakespeare's Hamlet are in progress, and we actresses are scattered across the empty auditorium, while Hamlet paces and ponders onstage. About it, because they are ready. View my complete profile. Those...

Ink Stained Hands: One Year Later
http://myinkstainedhands.blogspot.com/2011/09/one-year-later.html
Posted by inkstainedhands in exhibits. My first year in Stern was one of the most amazing times of my life - being a part of so many things, becoming part of the Stern community, and getting to know such awesome people. And now I'm starting my second year here and I am very much looking forward to what it has in store for me. Now, YU's new coed online newspaper. Some of the articles I've recently written for the Beacon include a review of the Discovery Center's Pompeii exhibit. Glad to hear things are go...
