Land of Song: March 2006
http://warriorbard81.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 31, 2006. Well, another Friday came and went. That's usually when I'm inspired to say something on the ol' blog. This is my 51st post. With it, I bid farewell to March. Forever. It's the last March I'll spend in school. Their music. This has only happened once this semester I’m not exaggerating (that begs the question: what the crap do we do every week? It was pretty good music, too. Unpretentious, well-crafted, and- *gasp*- likeable! Posted by the warrior bard at 11:01 PM. I got some mail ...

Land of Song: April 2006
http://warriorbard81.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 28, 2006. Today I gave my Threnody. Analysis presentation to Dr. Lillios in my final lesson. I pretty much did nothing but. Work on it since Wednesday. This whole week up until now was completely bleak. I’m talking harrowing. But they all underestimated me. I’m set. Lillios likes my presentation, and she is proud of me for how I’ve been shaped into an academic. Those are not my words. I find them sickening and laughable at the same time. I haven’t been shaped into anything. I don’t know....

Land of Song: October 2005
http://warriorbard81.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 29, 2005. New Music and Art Festival. It's over. I just left the reception in the lobby after the sixth and final concert of the festival. All the composers are exhausted, and their sense of camaraderie is that much stronger now. For me, the experience as a whole was far more positive than last year's. There are some negative things to say, but there's no need to go into those. Knows Warren Gooch, my undergrad composition professor. Dr. Gooch really gets around! Tuesday, October 25, 2005.

Land of Song: February 2006
http://warriorbard81.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 27, 2006. Tonight is the first rehearsal for my choral piece, Returning. My friend Tammy is putting it on her graduate conducting recital. I actually wrote the piece in July. I wrote the poem myself, and set the words in a fictitious language. I primarily chose vowels and consonants that I wanted for each note, but I did put a lot of care into designing the "language" so it is not just gibberish. It sounds. So here's the English translation of the poem:. The way it once appeared to me.

Land of Song: November 2005
http://warriorbard81.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 28, 2005. The Black Gate Opens. The end draws near. Soon. I went home for Thanksgiving. I was only home for 48 hours or so, and part of that was spent doing homework. It whetted my appetite for more free time. But now begins the chaotic semester wrap-up. As Dr. Gooch calls it, "survival mode." It seems I'm in survival mode all too often. Why should the end of the semester be any different? Oh yeah, deadlines. I still haven't seen the new Harry Potter. I miss video games. You bet. But...

Land of Song: December 2005
http://warriorbard81.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 16, 2005. As of now, the semester is officially over for me. Now it's time to regroup. I need to figure out what's what. I will be in Missouri from December 22 to January 1. Posted by the warrior bard at 1:18 PM. Monday, December 12, 2005. The answer: play video games. That's right. I brought the PS2 to the office. We have this TV that's been sitting on top of the cabinet, and I'm going to put it to use. Imagine, if you will, you are a freshman, and you go to your TA's office to take you...

Land of Song: September 2005
http://warriorbard81.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2005. So I read Choke. This week. Between that and the libretto, I've been very productive in a lot of things that have nothing. To do with my actual work. Chuck Palahniuk does it again. Now, to get back to reading Dark Tide. Oh wait, I have a thesis to work on this weekend. Posted by the warrior bard at 3:17 PM. Thursday, September 29, 2005. Posted by the warrior bard at 2:33 PM. Thursday, September 22, 2005. As soon as I buy a pair of microphones, I can do some recording with my o...

Land of Song: January 2006
http://warriorbard81.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 27, 2006. And now, for an attempt at the "ideal" blog post, which should contain:. 1) A current anecdote to illustrate my trivial existence. 3) An inside joke or at least an obscure and esoteric reference. 4) Something to take with you. Okay This is my blog's last attempt at balance before taking its inevitable plunge into the self-indulgent Dark Side of the Blog. Good The composition department seriously needs to work on its communication. Today has jerked around my emotions concerni...
