FLEXABLE BIBLE COVERS (SOFTCOVER). If the cover is to flexible, the material must be leather. In the binding industry, other materials are used for Bible covers, such as: bonded leather, imitation leather or other synthetic products with a variety of marketing names. Judging from the Bible that come in for repair, we have found that these materials do not last. We have done two or three deerskin covers but deerskin does not hold the imprinting.
