Ye Olde Wine House. A History of ‘The Tap. Ye Olde Wine House. Catherine Jones and Family. Catherine Jones was the known licensee in 1753. In August 1753 THE Margam estate reimbursed her ‘for reed delivered and work done, towards thatching the malt house belonging to the public house which she holds in Pyle’. The following year there is a record of the payment of the sum of three guineas that she had spent upon ‘supporting up and repairing the stable belonging to the public house in Pyle’.
