Mmmm….food :). Doesn’t it sound delicious? Trust me, this is a recipe you want to try. So boil your potatoes however you like. Mmmm….food :). So, I haven’t posted a blog in a few days. That’s because for most of the week, I’ve been battling this weird cold/flu thing. I’m still battling it today, but I’ve been on a cooking withdrawal. Today, despite feeling only slightly better, I knew I had to cook. Mmmm….food :). I spread the jam on a toasted english muffin with butter. That is the best way to enjoy jam in my opinion. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Oh my dear, it was so good. I was right about the brown sugar, cinnamon and allspice. The lemon juice I added really didn’t add any flavour to it. It just worked well as a liquid while the jam was boiling. Mmmm….food :). Trusty Google led me to a recipe on the Quaker website, which was convenient since the rolled oats I did have were from that brand. I used their recipe as more of a guideline, since I did end up adding a couple of ingredients that they did not list. I also halved the measurements of this recipe. So here’s the ingredients:. 1/2 cup (or one stick) softened unsalted butter. 1/4 cup white sugar. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp vanilla extract. 1 1/2 cups rolled oats. The ingredients I added were:.
