hutch off the cuff: Movie Review
http://hutchdaddy.typepad.com/hutch/2009/01/movie-review.html
Hutch off the cuff. A humble journal from the heart of america. We went to see a movie the other night that was none of that. It started with the Happily Ever After and went downhill from there. Then we saw the tiny house, the multiple jobs, the insecurity of young family, the children, the jobs, the dreams, the sacrifices, the priorities, the growth, the tears, the little fights, and the big rewards. And the dog was fun too. Go see Marley and Me. Jan 6, 2009 9:08:24 PM. 06 January 2009 at 09:31 PM.

Author Interview: Victoria Schwab Talks Near Witch and Narwhals! As many of you already know, I’ve been obsessed with. By Victoria Schwab for a very, very long time. And now it is HERE, and I am so happy, I keep hugging my copy and dancing. I hope you are all reading YOUR copies right now. Before The Near Witch. Was among us, when I was still a quivering mass of excitement while I waited for its release, I asked Victoria to stop by for an interview, and she was sweet enough to oblige! Is different, and t...

The Magic Hoodie Literary Society : February 2012
http://themhlitsociety.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
By Sarah Ockler (Simon Pulse, 1/3/2012). Review by Bailey Kelsey. Once upon a time, Hudson knew exactly what her future looked like. Then a betrayal changed her life and knocked her dreams to the ground. Now she’s a girl who doesn’t believe in second chances, a girl who stays under the radar by baking cupcakes at her mom’s diner and obsessing over what might have been. This is not a novel to be read without an adequate (and by adequate, I mean approximately 3 dozen) cupcakes on hand. Why? While bits and ...

Waiting on Wednesday: The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling. It's MHLit's first Waiting on Wednesday! Waiting on Wednesday, if you are unaware, showcases a book we can't wait for. This week, we can't wait for THE CASUAL VACANCY by J.K. Rowling. When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty facade is a town at war. There's a ...

http://themhlitsociety.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
A Change for MHL. The Magic Hoodie Lit Society is going through some changes. One of our great girls, Bailey, has chosen to bow out of MHLit in order to dedicate her time to her academics. While we’ll miss her a lot, we wish her the best with her studies and encourage her to do her best. In her absence, we’ll still be writing reviews and updating just as quickly as we always have. We still love all of our followers and hope that you will continue to read our posts. Thanks for being so awesome! On April 3...

The Magic Hoodie Literary Society : The NEW Magic Hoodie Literary Society
http://themhlitsociety.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-new-magic-hoodie-literary-society.html
The NEW Magic Hoodie Literary Society. As you all know, earlier this year Bailey and Kenzie left the blog for personal reasons. This brought our “staff” down to two, Laura and Kelly. We realized we would need to take on more work, and during BEA ‘12 we discussed the future of the Magic Hoodie Literary Society. We’re gonna get the ball rolling with a joint review of THE DIVINERS by Libba Bray on Wednesday [hopefully, if Kelly can read fast enough]! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Let's Pretend This Ne...

Best Book for Teenage Boys. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews (March 1, 2012, Amulet Books). Review by Kenzie Helene. Then there are books like. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Even while it includes all of the themes, despite the main character arguing that it absolutely doesn’t, it is a book that is fun to read. It definitely is not one of the books that you would see on a high school curriculum, even though students would probably relate to it more than. Of Mice and Men. Greg Gaines gets...

Monday, June 4, 2012. Raindrops in My Ketchup: A #twinantics Story. MY TWIN IS HERE. If you follow me on twitter, you know I have a twin. Laura. You can find her here. SO She is with me this week for BEA. Except we did not BEA today. We were TOURISTS today. My ORIGINAL plan was to take her to Central Park first thing in the AM while it was only slightly warm and not super warm. Then it rained. and it didn't just rain; it RAINED. So that went out the window. So we go to Shake Shack, where there is normall...
