Tightwad Hill: SECOND AND SHORT
http://tightwad-hill.blogspot.com/2007/01/second-and-short.html
Tuesday, January 09, 2007. During the year Tedford and Dunbar came under fire (relatively speaking) for their alleged conservatism in play-calling. We thought it fair to do a quick and dirty analysis of the play-by-play for each of the Bears' conference games and the Holiday Bowl to see whether this criticism was supported by the data. The numbers back up our collective suspicion - Cal was indeed very conservative in these situations. The two passes were a short completion to DeSean Jackson in the Stanfo...

Paralysis of the Mind. Wednesday, March 31, 2004. Al Franken and company are starting a liberal radio network today (Air America) which is available in a few major cities, on XM, and streaming internet media (coming soon, we'll see how how that works once it's up). I linked it over yonder, if you're interested. I haven't blogged recently because hey, I'm a busy guy! Yes, I'd pay to see a PPV between Al Franken and Rush Limbaugh, just to see Limbaugh sweat. :). Paralysis of the Mind. Thursday, April 29, 2004. To Danny, with love. So, I have been called out by my own comments section. whoa! Anyway, Danny, an undecided wrote in this morning and said: I'm no Republican, but you don't think Kerry will do any better if he's elected, do you? But lemme have some say first. :). From the top: the coverage of our political system disgusts me. "Campaigning" doesn't mean "get your views on the issues out there" it's come to mean "release some nice-sounding sound bites ...

Paralysis of the Mind. Thursday, September 30, 2004. The Only Bible I'll Ever Read. Well, it's been done. I'm now converted. I didn't find Jesus through Billy Graham, and uh, I'm not going through any "step" programs, and I definitely did NOT talk to those well-dressed Jehovah's Witnesses who like to stalk your front door from time to time. Actually, I finally found a Bible worth reading. Or, I should say, looking at. A Bible so amazing. Okayokayokay, I'm not really. Sweet creeping Trey, that isn't right!

Paralysis of the Mind. Tuesday, December 30, 2003. Things I Wish For. At one point in my life, I used to make New Year's Resolutions. About 1997, though, I looked back and said to myself that I'd only met maybe 2 or 3 of them in my life. And at least one of those involved a girl I used to like, and the other one probably had something to do with a car. Weight? Hardly. Like most everyone else, I couldn't make a sudden change stick. No big loss, resolutions are easily tossed and forgotten. It's hard to ima...

Paralysis of the Mind. Friday, April 29, 2005. His balls, your face. I'm very tired of being so constantly riled up about the political direction of our country where I end up being basically so sick of my fellow Americans, our preznit and the random moral decay brought out by those who act like they cherish the morals while robbing the bank that I end up getting into a pervasive funk. I could use a little good news once every blue moon or so. Those were good times. You could hear the frenzied shrieks...

Paralysis of the Mind. Saturday, May 28, 2005. Hall of Fame Game 2005. Last Monday, my girlfriend and I took a trip to Cooperstown, NY for the 2005 Hall of Fame game featuring the evil Detroit Tigers (boo) and the heroic World Champion Boston Red Sox (this is still somewhat hard to believe). Anyhow, since writing on here hasn't been my strong suit lately, I figured I'd drop some pictures all in on the blizzog. (I apologize if this takes forever to load.). Then, on to Doubleday Field, right behind the Hal...

Paralysis of the Mind. Sunday, November 28, 2004. Recently, it came to my attention that Sheryl Crow had a stalker. Anyhow, I woke up just in time to hear how "crazy" the stalker was, because he seemed to think he had a deep spiritual connection to Crow. Here's some of the things he said:. We are spiritual twins . My spirit asked to marry her and her spirit accepted.". I have an unexplained familiarity with her, a closeness.". Last Saturday morning, my wife lost her wallet. She did what she always do...

A qualitative examination of the sports world. For the latest updates. Saturday, March 31, 2007. Final Four blog II - Bride of Final Four blog. Technical difficulties be damned! Time for some more blogging in semifinal #2. Great start to this game.uh, yeah. Really great. Two fouls on Afflalo, neither team hitting anything. Four combined points in the first 3:30. Now UCLA hits two free throws, giving the Bruins as many points as they have fouls. In other news, Billy Packer has finally confirmed. UCLA make...

A qualitative examination of the sports world. For the latest updates. Thursday, March 30, 2006. To the readers: I appreciate all your emails and questions regarding the IU coaching job, the hiring of Kelvin Sampson, and your curiosity as to where NetWire has been here recently. Fear not - - we're still around. The idea yesterday was to do some live blogging from the press conference, but unfortunately we couldn't get a wireless laptop signal from Assembly Hall. Unfortunately, that steadiness also meant ...
