Living the dream in Japan. Saturday, May 30, 2015. Matsushiro Onsen and Kami Yamada Onsen. The destination was Nagano prefecture. The purpose was rest and relaxation. Nothing says R&R like a stroll around a Buddhist temple so when we arrived at Matsushiro we went for a walk around one of the local temples. This temple is very well maintained. This structure had all the chinese zodiac symles carved into stone. I was impressed with the banister being carved like bamboo. The gate to the main temple area.

I picked up the Zeiss 25mm f2.8 Distagon T* lens in M42 mount for use on my Sony A7II digital camera and my Bessaflex TM film camera. After a couple of outings with this lens I am completely enamored with it. The lens is simply brilliant! So, let's look at some photos. The Kanagawa Prefecture History Museum - a good test for architectural capabilities of the semi-wide angle lens. Likewise the Yokohama Customs House.

Living the dream in Japan. Saturday, July 26, 2014. Yoshida-cho Summer Whammer Jammer 2014. Imagine going out on a hot summer day (a very hot summer day) lugging around a camera hoping to find something of interest to take a picture of. Well, that's what I did yesterday. I started out in Hinodecho. The Sun was beating down on the streets cooking people as they headed to their varied destinations. Some people couldn't make it on foot and had to resort to taking a taxi. This local blues band was cooking!
