Parsha Questions: March 2007
http://parshaquestions.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
I ask my kids these questions at my shabbos table and we debate the answers until my kids get sick of it and scream at me that they hate my questions. Wednesday, March 28, 2007. In 8:36 it tells us that Aharon and his sons did as Hashem commanded through Moshe. Rashi tells us that this tells us the praise of Aharon and sons that they did not divert at all from what Hashem told them to do. Everything was followed precisely. Why does the Torah have to keep telling us this? Thursday, March 8, 2007. Had he r...

Parsha Questions: February 2007
http://parshaquestions.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
I ask my kids these questions at my shabbos table and we debate the answers until my kids get sick of it and scream at me that they hate my questions. Sunday, February 18, 2007. This week's shabbos table question on the parsha was (drum roll please.):. When the Torah describes the three holidays, it does not call them by their main names, rather it calls them by alternative names. Hag Hamatzot, Hag Ha'Katzir, Hag Ha'Asif. Why? Why not call them by Pesach, Shavuot and Sukkot? Sunday, February 11, 2007.

http://parshaquestions.blogspot.com/2007/03/what-would-you-do.html
I ask my kids these questions at my shabbos table and we debate the answers until my kids get sick of it and scream at me that they hate my questions. Thursday, March 8, 2007. What would you do? This weeks question for the shabbos table might be:. When Aharion helped them create the golden calf, even though he tried to delay, did he do the right thing or should he have refused? He definitely should have refused I thought it is mentioned that it was wrong. March 8, 2007 at 5:17 PM. By aoc power leveling.

Parsha Questions: May 2007
http://parshaquestions.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
I ask my kids these questions at my shabbos table and we debate the answers until my kids get sick of it and scream at me that they hate my questions. Saturday, May 26, 2007. Naso: not getting out of hand. The last section of the parsha. Goes through the donation of korbanot. Gave at the dedication of the mishkan. All 12 gave the same exact donation. Tells us why the nesiim. Left for the mesiim. To give. They were upset they missed the opportunity. To participate, so now they jumped forward right away.

Torah Thoughts: Shoftim: pointless killing
http://torahthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/09/shoftim-pointless-killing.html
These are my thoughts on life that I glean from the Torah - parshat hashavua, Daf Yomi, Mishna, etc. Tuesday, September 09, 2008. In Perek 21, it discusses the concept of Egla Arufa - a person was found dead outside a city and the elders have to bring a calf to the nahal. Kill it by breaking its neck and say they did not spill the blood of the man. What does killing a calf have to do with this mans death? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Torah Thoughts: Eikev: one way or the other

These are my thoughts on life that I glean from the Torah - parshat hashavua, Daf Yomi, Mishna, etc. Tuesday, September 09, 2008. Eikev: one way or the other. In Perek 9, Moshe tells the nation that they should not think it is because they are so worthy that is the cause of Hashem choosing them and to place them in Eretz Yisrael. He then goes on to remind them of all the bad things they have done and all the ways they have upset Hashem. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Eikev:...

Torah Thoughts: Masei: affecting others
http://torahthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/07/masei-affecting-others.html
These are my thoughts on life that I glean from the Torah - parshat hashavua, Daf Yomi, Mishna, etc. Thursday, July 31, 2008. In 35:34 it says, "ולא תטמא את הארץ. אשר אני שכן בתוכה כי אני ה' שכן בתוך בני ישראל" - do not defile the land. that I dwell within it, for I Hashem dwell amongst Israel. We live in a global village of sorts. Nothing we do is contained and limited to our own sphere of influence. Everything has an affect on the greater community. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Torah Thoughts: Vaeschanan: 2 parts to a mitzva
http://torahthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/08/vaeschanan-2-parts-to-mitzva.html
These are my thoughts on life that I glean from the Torah - parshat hashavua, Daf Yomi, Mishna, etc. Thursday, August 14, 2008. Vaeschanan: 2 parts to a mitzva. In 7:1-3 the Torah commands us to wipe out the nations already residing in the Land of Israel. It then commands us to not allow them to continue living there, and to not intermarry with them. If we already have to wipe them out, then why is it necessary to have secondary commandments of not letting them buy property and not intermarrying? To find...
