Let me preface this post by saying teaching is one of my passions and that I take improving myself as a teacher seriously. The intent of this post is to make some very needed observations and criticisms about how workshops are designed and how presenters are chosen and presentation materials vetted . . . or, unfortunately, to illuminate the lack of vetting and the lack of supervision . . . National anthem and flag respecting ...

Friday, January 29, 2010. Random things from this past week . . . a motorcycle, my school, an ugly dog, a mountain landscape, and a student’s lunchbox — this is my life…. Over the last month, maybe even two months, I haven’t been doing much blogging . . . and I’m going to try and get back to my habit of putting up at least 3 or 4 posts a week. The weather in Seoul has been a lot ‘warmer’ lately (Julianne would strongly disagree! I've moved over to wordpress.com and will be blogging there from now on.

With that in mind I have written this post with some new conte...

Tuesday, January 11, 2011. First iPhone movie made by Korean director Park Chan Wook - COOL! While I'm not living and teaching in South Korea anymore I can't help but notice and pay attention to news related to Korea. Shooting "a 30-minute film about a surreal encounter between a fisherman and a female shaman" is just plain cool, and I love Park Chan Wook. S films- my favorite being Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Click on this link to read the story, Director shoots first major movie solely with iPhone.

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. The road to hell is apparently paved with my intentions to help ATEK out . . . I see that ATEK's leader (I won't disgrace the title "president" in reference to him) has commented about my post on the ATEK Open Discussion forum. Where Breanna Horn (National Council Hogwan Rep) started a thread titled, " A different Take 0n ATEK. A post I found about ATEK's online visibility at Kimchi Icecream. And ease of access for teachers. Any thoughts on the post? My bold and italics). I won...

Saturday, December 4, 2010. EFL/ESL Summer/Winter Camp for Elementary or Middle School in South Korea - Lesson plans, games, and activities for the last second planning of a camp. For something like two years now I've been trying to find the time, and energy, to post a list of books that elementary school and middle school level native English teachers in Korea would find useful for the absolutely ridiculous lack of planning, literally last second planning education culture that is prevalent across Korea.
