Links I liked, 6/22/2015 6/28/2015 (recycling problems, teacher teachspans, ACLU). June 28, 2015. 1 American recycling is stalling, and the big blue bin is one reason why. Single-stream recycling is actually a big pain for processors. And it results in a lot of waste – 1/3 of glass picked up is crushed in processing and has to be sent to landfills, perhaps contaminating other materials along the way. 2 Video of Portland tornado. 3 Sermon: The Communion of Saints. 8221; (Baptism reference.) ladybugblue: January 2013
http://ladybugblue.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 06, 2013. Don't look now, but I believe we're well into 2013 already. Do you ever get a weird nostalgia for the things that will never be again - like writing "2012" when you write out checks? Or maybe, check writing altogether? The holidays were quite lovely: I spent more than half a week with my family in Eau Claire playing with/holding kids and puppies and catching up with everyone (and knitting a hat for Jody! Step-family is a rotten word. so don't be misled - they're wonderful! So - ...

ladybugblue: Scotland!
http://ladybugblue.blogspot.com/2014/05/scotland.html
Friday, May 02, 2014. Sooo, there comes a time for all good newlyweds to go to Scotland. I think it only applies to folks married in Oct of 2013, so most of you are off the hook, one way or the other. But you still should try to get to Scotland at SOME point. For real. We had planned to go since late last year, so when I got a job right before we left, we hoped there wouldn't be too much problem with a 2 1/2 week vacation. They let it go - yayy! ladybugblue: utter north
http://ladybugblue.blogspot.com/2014/05/utter-north.html
Sunday, May 11, 2014. So it was time to get north. Really north. Like nearly as northwest and northnorth and northeast as you can get on mainland Scotland. We also needed to touch the North Sea - just to say we'd done it. Click on the collage for more photos and mini-blurbs of our loop - this part of Scotland was just incredible. June 17, 2014 12:21 PM. Angela, the link from the pictures isnt working, it just brings up a .txt button. The waterfall picture is AMAZING! June 18, 2014 7:59 AM. What I'm up to.

ladybugblue: Rosslyn Chapel & Inverary (say it fast, roll the "r"s)
http://ladybugblue.blogspot.com/2014/05/rosslyn-chapel-inverary-say-it-fast.html
Wednesday, May 07, 2014. Rosslyn Chapel and Inverary (say it fast, roll the "r"s). By Monday we were ready to get out of the city. After spending over an hour in "queue", we were finally in our home for the next 1 1/2 weeks: a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2, complete with steering wheel on the right. Side of the car and manual transmission. Woo hoo! But, it was time to head west. We barreled through Glasgow and up along the shores of Loch Lamond before landing in. The Springbank distillery tour was really fun and in...

ladybugblue: The Battle of Culloden
http://ladybugblue.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-battle-of-culloden.html
Tuesday, May 13, 2014. The Battle of Culloden. Telling us all about the battle - in this case - that the Victorians romanticized things a bit when they made memorials for the site! We got so much fun advice from friends as they learned about our upcoming trip to Scotland. Not least was when our friend Beth suggested catching the museum and site of the Battle of Culloden. Yep, that's our rental car. Member when I mentioned our museum geekiness in my last post? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

ladybugblue: August 2013
http://ladybugblue.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 04, 2013. I was excited about some beautiful flowers growing in the park and turned away from them just as he approached and he grabbed me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I looked at him and said, "Seriously? And he said, "yes". and we repeated that about 2-3 more times. Finally he said, "Yes, I'm serious! I was like, "I know you're serious. but seriously? And then I said yes! We had time to listen (they were great fun, washboard and all! Thursday, August 01, 2013.

ladybugblue: Ballachulish and the Isle of Skye
http://ladybugblue.blogspot.com/2014/05/ballachulish-and-isle-of-skye.html
Friday, May 09, 2014. Ballachulish and the Isle of Skye. So, Ballachulish (pronounced "balla-hu-lish) is actually far less famous than up-the-road Glencoe, but isn't it more fun to say? Glencoe is famous for a massacre that occurred in 1692. But also for the beautiful hills that surround it. We took an incredibly beautiful hike there, and wandered around an old slate quarry for quite a while. The Isle of Skye! And a yarn shop that dyes all of their yarn, much of it with plants harvested right there.
