Committee boats come in all shapes and sizes. Alongside is a picture of the Committee Boat we got to use at Weymouth - a forty foot catamaran dive boat. Really stable platform and lots of room. They can be very useful if you can use a flybridge or coachhouse roof at height to stand on. Binoculars

When your start line is over 250 metres or you need to identify which class that boat is from at a distance we need binoculars. The problem usually is that where we use binoculars is on the foredeck, and it moves, a lot! Secondary problems are that everyone needs the focus of each eyepiece adjust for their sight and to focus on a particular distance it the focus usually needs to be adjusted. Dictating Machines

It is in fact very difficult to buy any Tape based recorder new as manufacturers change to digital technology. When buying a dictating machine there are several things to consider. Recording time (see note on quality). Will it allow a microphone and Headset to be plugged in? Does it have a download facility to a laptop? This can be really useful at bigger events where you may have to retain every day and every race recordings. PAGE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Got a different dictating machine that you use?
