Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Paper Bag Apple Pie. I saw this recipe on the King Arthur Flour site and I was intrigued. I've never cooked anything in a paper bag and I loved the idea of the mess staying in the bag and not in my oven. This pie was. I will definitely be making this again. Think apple crisp, plus apple pie. Paper Bag Apple Pie. Recipe for your favorite pie crust. You only need one crust for the bottom. 8 cups of apples, peeled, cored, and sliced. 3/4 cup brown sugar. Stir in the flour.

kitchen: Roasted potato wedges
http://youngadventureskitchen.blogspot.com/2013/05/roasted-potato-wedges.html
Monday, May 6, 2013. When I make baked potatoes for dinner, I usually make some roasted potato wedges for Ian. He is not a big fan of baked potatoes and calls these "french fries". When I was a little girl I remember my Dad making something like this. He called them joe joe's and he would sprinkle them heavily with paprika. The trick to these is to place the wedges skin. Side down like you see in the photo. If you lay them on their sides they tend to stick to the pan. Extra virgin olive oil. This may tak...

Young Adventures...: Italian Cream Cake
http://4everyoungfam.blogspot.com/2011/04/italian-cream-cake.html
Monday, April 25, 2011. We are having an Italian theme for book club this week, so I thought about bringing an Italian cream cake. The hostess is not crazy about coconut, so I decided to bring something else. But when Susie heard that I wasn't going to make it she said "You have to make it"! So, I told her I would make it for Easter. So I poured over my cookbooks and searched online for a recipe. I couldn't find one I was sold on, so I took three different recipes and came up with my own. Pour evenly int...

Young Adventures...: Holiday Baking
http://4everyoungfam.blogspot.com/2009/12/holiday-baking_08.html
Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Off the top of my head, I believe this is the one cookie that I make for the holiday's that has nuts. Katie and Ian are not fans of the "evil n" as one of my college roommates referred to them. Brian on the other hand loves these cookies, because well he loves nuts! 2 sticks of unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup firmly, packed brown sugar. 2 1/2 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour. 1/2 tsp. salt. 2 eggs whites, lightly beaten. 2 cups finely chopped walnuts. 1 cup unsalted butter.

Young Adventures...: Disney World Day {3} Animal Kingdom
http://4everyoungfam.blogspot.com/2013/07/disney-world-day-3-animal-kingdom.html
Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Disney World Day {3} Animal Kingdom. Our third day at Disney we ventured to Animal Kingdom. Last time Brian and Katie were the only two that braved Expedition Everest. Ian was too small and I was too chicken. This time we all went. One time was enough for me. The rest of my crew went a second time and they tried to go a third, but they had to stop the ride because it started storming. What do you call the guy that plays with fire? Well, whatever you call him he was there. Dinosa...
