The Alaskan Husky was the foundation of the Alaskan Klee Kai, with a touch of Siberian Husky, Schipperke and American Eskimo dog. The breed is about 40 years old and is still extremely rare, due to a strict breeding program. Alaskan Klee Kai are one of the rare dog breeds recognized by the United Kennel Club.
