Yesterday, the boys went outside ahead of Jordan in preparation for a special trip. As I came out the front door to put something in the van, they scampered up the driveway grinning as if they'd eaten the canary. I can't recall which darling said what, but the context is the same. Mom: "What have you two been doing? Son: "We've been doing nothing.". Mom: "Oh, really? Then why are you smiling like you were doing something you're not supposed to? Son: "We're smiling 'cause it's just lovely to see you.".

The Eighth Day of Christmas: "Charity: Bible Definition - The highest, noblest, strongest kind of love, not merely affection; the pure love of Christ. It is never used to denote alms or deeds of benevolence, although it may be a prompting motive.". We received books, a worthy addition to any family's house. There was a mixture of books for the very young and books for the merely young. We received an assortment of card and board games, which is great if you (like us) are a game-playing sort of family.

This blog and I . . . we just can't seem to maintain a steady relationship. I so frequently think about posting and so infrequently do it. Sadly, my journal is the same way. It takes such a large commitment of time for me to do it "right" that I instead opt for doing it not-at-all. A character defect to be sure. So, my sister chided me some months ago that I never posted the results (or anything else, for that matter) of our baby game last November. Without further ado . . . Birth time: 6:55 pm.

Yes, I realize that it is now February and that I promised our Year-In-Review for last month. I have started on it, but project time is hard to come by. In the meantime, a view photos for your viewing pleasure. When the weather is right, our front room gets some really nice light. Perfect for a natural light photo shoot. At least perfect from the point of view of an amateur photographer. Clara suffered patiently through a mini sitting a few weeks ago after church because the light was just right.
