インド生活★Living in India. 98年にインド、ブッダガヤに嫁ぎ、現地でNGOを運営しています。インド生活の中での出来事を綴ります。 スーリヤ校が、8月初旬から中旬にかけ、雨季の豪雨による洪水の被害を受けましたので御報告いたします。ビハール州やUP州など北インドで洪水による甚大な被害が出ています。以下、校長のミトレッシュ先生からの報告を日本語でお伝えいたします。 ロッカー（本棚含む）（12個）の下の部分が浸水し、使用不可の状態になっています。交換が必要です。 机とベンチ（長椅子）（150セット）が洪水の泥水につかり、ダメージを受けました。新しく買い替えないといけません。 CPU（10台）が使用不可になりました。机の下に設置してあったデスクトップ用CPUが、一週間ほど洪水の水につかっていたため、使用出来なくなりました。子供たちの教育のため、新しいセットが必要です。 教師用椅子（10脚）が洪水の水により使えなくなりました。新しい椅子が必要です。 教室の全ドア（12枚）の下部分が水により腐っています。取り換えが必要です。 ラベル: Surya Bharti School. スーリヤ・...

インド生活★Living in India. 98年にインド、ブッダガヤに嫁ぎ、現地でNGOを運営しています。インド生活の中での出来事を綴ります。 スーリヤ校卒業生でクリケット選手を目指してトレーニングを頑張っている子が、「自分のチームがリーグで優勝した」と、そのことが載った記事の切り抜きを持って来てくれた。胸ポケットから大事そうに、小さく折りたたんだ切り抜きを出して広げて見せてくれた。 憧れのドニ（有名なクリケット選手）が、アカデミーに遊びに来たそうで、すぐ近くで見たとうれしそうに語った。でも、彼の携帯はカメラがついていないので、写真は取れなかったそうだ。「私はドニと同じ飛行機に乗っていて、空港で握手してもらったよ。」と言うと、すごい！と感激していた。 将来のこととか、いつまでトレーニングを続けるかとか、現実的な話もしたいけど、瞳に☆がキラキラしているから、やっぱり応援してしまう。 インド生活★Living in India. インド生活★Living in India. 98年にインド、ブッダガヤに嫁ぎ、現地でNGOを運営しています。インド生活の中での出来事を綴ります。 6ヶ月になった次女を連れ、先月、インドに戻ってまいりました。 戻ってからというもの、毎日イベント盛りだくさんで、インドを離れていた間にたまっていた仕事に追われております。 村の入り口で車を降りて歩き出すと、外国人が珍しいのか、すぐに村人たちが集まってくれました。 一ヶ月くらいと思われる新生児を抱いているお祖母さんに「この赤ちゃんは何ヶ月ですか？」と質問したところ、なんと6ヶ月でした。 私が抱えている次女は7ヶ月になったところです。すぐ横で比べてみると大きさが1.5倍ほど違いました。次女が生まれてすぐの頃より小さく思えました。 貧しい村では成人した大人もとても小柄なので、元々の骨格が違うのかも知れませんが、それにしても赤ちゃんたちは栄養状態が非常に悪いようでした。 幼児も手足が細く、ハナをたらしている子供たちも多く、中には異様に頬がこけている子もいて、明らかに栄養失調の状態でした。 ラベル: Health Care Program.
