I am In the Wildness. 4월 18, 2012. 갑작스럽지만 요즘 내 삶을 돌아보며 생각나는 사건이 있다. 군대에 처음 들어가 자대배치를 받자마자 연대급 훈련을 뛰게 되었는데,. 약 1,500명 정도의 규모가 한꺼번에 움직이는 큰 훈련이었다. 아무것도 모른채 새벽에 일어나 잘 싸지지 않는 군장을. 몇번이고 다시싸며 훈련을 시작했던 기억이 난다. 그땐 알지 못했지만 랜턴베터리, 물티슈, 망원경 등. 분대에 필요한, 나눠서 싸야하는 모든 물건을 내 군장에 싸야했다. 새벽4시에 일어나 5시에 걷기시작해서. 그렇게 12시간을 걸으니 숙영지 가까이에 도착을 하게 되었다. 점심을 먹고 가파른 고개 하나만 넘으면 끝이라는 말을 듣고. 이제 거의 다 욌구나 싶었다. 점심을 먹고 잠시 쉬고 있는데. 내 바로 윗고참인 이등병과 일병 선임이 시비를 건다. 자기도 힘드니 나한테 짜증을 내는것 같았지만. 첫 훈련을 뛰는 내 입장에서는. 아무것도 모르는 내가 더 힘들었기 때문에 받아주고 싶지 않았다.

I am In the Wildness. 12월 26, 2011. 지나다 볼 수 있는 수많은 집처럼 그곳은 우리의 삶 곳곳에 자리한다. 나는 그래서 이렇게 생각했다. 8216;나는 그곳과 정말 가까이 있다.’. 하지만 나는 그곳을 알지 못한다. 그곳이 단지 어떤 기능을 하며 어디에 있는지, 어떻게 생겼는지 익히 들어서 가늠할 뿐이었다. 나는 문 밖에 있었다. 그리고 현관에 있었고 거실에 있었다. 나는 내가 이곳에 어떻게 들어왔는지 몰랐다. 그러나 이곳이 금방 좋아졌다. 하지만 시간이 지나자 나는 답답했다. 나는 안방의 문을 열지 않았지만 그곳을 나가려고 했다. 나는 다 안다고 생각했는지 모른다. 그 문을 열지 않아도 나는 많은 것을 받았고, 경험했다고. 그러니 이제 내 집으로 가겠다고. 이곳은 내 집이 아니라서 불편함도 있었다고 말이다. 그래서 나는 다시 들어왔다. 그 집에는 그 분과 나만 있었고 그 이전부터 그분은 날 기다리셨다. 그 집은 그분의 집이었지만 내가 들어갔을 때 그분과 나의 집이었다.
