The Zaanse Schans is a definite 'must-do' when in the Netherlands. Spend a day looking at the windmills, some of which are hundreds of years old, visiting the museum about the history of the area, having a coffee at one of the terrace or take a boat across the river! From the Bed and Breakfast you can take the ferry to the Zaanse Schans. This city is famous for its beautiful gardens (hofjes), its impressive cathedral, its medieval roots and great shops. The train will get you there in half an hour!
