Tie Dye is just a beginning. Skip to primary content. Sign Up For Tips. August 11, 2012. Kumo Shibori makes use of Shibori noses to create a pattern like many spider webs. There is a special tool that can be used which pricks a spot in the fabric, holding it while you bind. I am so used to doing it by hand that I can’t imagine using the tool, but if it was going to be a solid mass of noses it would probably be worth it. This entry was posted in class assignments. Tie Dye is just a beginning. Skip to primary content. Sign Up For Tips. August 11, 2012. Katano Shibori is the Japanese name for the type of Shibori I was first taught. It calls for the fabric to be bound to a tube with string, scrunching it up tightly to form lots of small folds. I also fold the fabric first to add more structure to the resulting design, also making the area to be bound into a more manageable size. This entry was posted in class assignments.
