Rainbows and Running Shoes: Bananas
http://rainbowsandrunningshoes.blogspot.com/2010/07/bananas-friday-9th-july-2010.html
Rainbows and Running Shoes. Sunday, 11 July 2010. Friday 9th July 2010. Back at the gym today for another treadmill run, with baby Lily-Rose in the crèche. In a way it’s a good thing, as it is unbelievably hot outside and the gym is cool and air-conditioned. Now that I have managed over 8K (5 miles) on the treadmill, it seems a bit pathetic to go back to the 5K runs that I usually do on here so, gritting my teeth, I program in 8.3K, just to make sure…. Eat a banana 2 hours before your run. Strike the gro...

Rainbows and Running Shoes: East, West, Home’s Best
http://rainbowsandrunningshoes.blogspot.com/2010/09/east-west-homes-best.html
Rainbows and Running Shoes. Friday, 3 September 2010. East, West, Home’s Best. Back from the Isle of Wight and the focus is on unpacking, washing clothes, unpacking, looking after children, unpacking, more washing, children, washing, unpacking and then some more unpacking (oh, and some more washing and unpacking). My friend Nigel, who is training for the Great North Run on 19th September, posted on Facebook today that he had just run 10k in 56 minutes. A challenge! My new personal record for 10k is…...

Rainbows and Running Shoes: Steep
http://rainbowsandrunningshoes.blogspot.com/2010/08/steep.html
Rainbows and Running Shoes. Saturday, 21 August 2010. Week 2 of our holiday on the Isle of Wight. The weather has been see-sawing between torrential rain and blazing sunshine, which has limited my running opportunities a little! However, I have managed two runs this week:. Speedy music on my iPod helps my pace, and the gorgeous sunset on water soothes my soul. I push myself, keeping an eye on the stopwatch, and am so happy to reach the post-box in 57 minutes and 25 seconds - my first sub-60 10K! I have b...

Rainbows and Running Shoes: Scaphoid
http://rainbowsandrunningshoes.blogspot.com/2010/09/scaphoid.html
Rainbows and Running Shoes. Wednesday, 29 September 2010. Well, as I write this it is two weeks on from the Great Forest Run, and two weeks before my next race, and my running plans are in tatters. Poor Mum – for her it means pain, a plaster-cast, potentially no driving for at least 4 weeks (if it is broken), difficulty dressing etc. So, these last few weeks in September have looked a little like this:. 5k on the treadmill (3.1 miles). I tried something different! Made it to the gym. 5k at the gym. Well,...

Rainbows and Running Shoes: Petts Wood 10k - All the Tens
http://rainbowsandrunningshoes.blogspot.com/2010/10/all-tens.html
Rainbows and Running Shoes. Saturday, 16 October 2010. Petts Wood 10k - All the Tens. Part 1 – Pre-Race – 9/10/10. As I write, it is Saturday afternoon on the 9th October, the day before my next race: the Petts Wood 10K, which is at 10.10am on the 10th of the 10th of the 10th. I am really looking forward to this race. I’m not fund-raising this time (I wouldn’t dream of asking anyone for sponsorship so soon after my last race! So, my training for the last week or so leading up to this race has looked a li...

Rainbows and Running Shoes: Countdown
http://rainbowsandrunningshoes.blogspot.com/2010/09/countdown.html
Rainbows and Running Shoes. Thursday, 9 September 2010. The good news is that the fundraising has gone well, and my original tentative target of £200 pounds has been well and truly smashed, with the current total standing at £335. Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me! Tomorrow I’m going to officially “rest” before my early start on Saturday morning, but here is how my last week of training has shaped up:. But I fell asleep. So my day was spent trying to restore some sort of order to the house, afte...

Rainbows and Running Shoes: February 2011
http://rainbowsandrunningshoes.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Rainbows and Running Shoes. Saturday, 12 February 2011. Yes, I know it’s been a while…. A very long while. 119 days in fact. BUT, the good news is… I haven’t stopped running. Oh no, I’ve been running my socks off since my last blog post on 16th October 2010. I just haven’t been blogging about it. And, to be honest, writing my blog doesn’t always fit in with the mayhem. So I’ve had a little break from the blogging. Taking into account the snow (remember the snow? A group of about 6 or so friends (of vario...

Rainbows and Running Shoes: July 2010
http://rainbowsandrunningshoes.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Rainbows and Running Shoes. Friday, 30 July 2010. Friday 30th July 2010. For six whole weeks. This fact has some serious implications. Well, we’ll see what happens – I’ll have to take it a day at a time, and grab those running opportunities when I can. Writing this at the end of Week 1, these have been the running opportunities so far…. There is an opportunity to bail out at 6.5 miles if I can’t make it all the way, but I'm hoping I won’t have to use it…). I set off, enjoying the beautiful riverside view...

World inside my head: April 2011
http://annadrew.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
World inside my head. Bits and pieces from my life and thoughts. Sunday, April 24, 2011. For some reason, blogger is squishing this a bit - for the full experience, check out the video on YouTube. Friday, April 22, 2011. What's so good about Good Friday? So I wrote a faily standard 'thought of the day' for Good Friday and in all their awesomeness, Ian Turner and the Premier Radio presenters turned it into something really cool. World inside my head: Writing to my MP for the first time
http://annadrew.blogspot.com/2012/02/writing-to-my-mp-for-first-time.html
World inside my head. Bits and pieces from my life and thoughts. Friday, February 17, 2012. Writing to my MP for the first time. As someone who works for the Church on media, I am often involved in campaigns with my fabulous colleagues in the Joint Public Issues Team. As part of this work, I often ask people to write to their MPs to support a particular campaign. But I have never done so my self - I have been a hypocrite. Alcohol misuse is has personally affected some of the people I love very dearly.
