Heart for the Nations. Love people.Love God. Monday, September 21, 2009. With 19 team members headed to Ireland this year, I thought we had lost it! It was our largest team and we usually only have between 20-30 kids at each camp. Well, who am I to question God. At both camp locations, Athenry and Westside, we started the first day with about 20 kids and it grew each day! By the end of the second week we were serving almost 70 kids! We ABSOLUTELY needed every single person on the team!

I have to wonder what other people are thinking when they see a person listening on their cell phone and the individual gets a HUGE smile on their face. I would probably get happy and smile right along with them! I wasn't sure how we were going to get the outfits, but I knew the kids would end up wearing something. Now, these girls and boys have a brand new Christmas outfit that THEY OWN! I love these kids!

My Tuesday afternoon class of Urban Art students at City Mission not only performed at Kensington but they performed for the tutoring classes at their Christmas party. They performed The Littlest Star. We had a ton of fun and the kids did a great job reading their parts! Wednesday, December 03, 2008. Pictures Worth a Thousand Words. Red soda with ice cream, pepperoni and cheese pizza, heart balloons, cute napkins and a really cool valentine card was what made up the party that we threw for City Mission urban art kids on Tuesday. But here is a cute story from one of the boys we work with. As he pointed to the colored chocolate. I said, 'What the chocolate? This was the very first time for all of the kids to make chocolates. So on Tuesday night, I handed out 54 CD's to the kids at CDC so that they would be able to practice their music at home. I wasn't really sure how well the music was going over with the kids after the second week, but after hearing this story, I know! We got our very own CD's! We get to take them home and keep them and listen to them and practice with them! I guess they are liking it!
