May 9th, 2010. So for those of you who didn't know (and you probably did because I whinged about it all the time) I had my Leeds exam on Friday. Upon exiting the exam I ran off with my arms waving around all over the place screaming "I'M FREE! FINALLY FREE AT LAST! What happens in and around Tracy, California, U.S.A. Friday, March 31, 2006. I started back from Sunnyvale at around 3:45 yesterday, and was home in Tracy at about 5:30. We stopped only once, between Dublin and Livermore. There was no jam at northbound 880 after the merge from 237. I bypassed Sunol in the right lane as usual. Weird, really. Where were all the cars? TLDR: Use 32-bit x86 kernels? Want to keep using them? Want to make sure they continue to work? Don't use 32-bit kernels because PAE is a hack. Want to run VMs? Don't use 32-bit kernels. Transparent hugepages (or hugepages in general)? 32-bit is not your friend. So what can be done here? Should we kill the 32-bit x86 kernels?

July 29th, 2010. So tomorrow is my last full day in Japan. Today I felt pretty rough- it started to rain heavily and although it makes me smile thinking that Japan might be telling me to go back to Rainy England now, I found myself not enjoying the rain so much as I would have done in England. Spent all morning finishing my year abroad report and taking photos with everyone. Then held my kimono seminar. Four people came.about half what I was expected and I was vaguely disappointed. All the way from sweden.

October 30th, 2013. Всё нижеописанное - мой личный опыт. Сын ходит в 7 класс средней школы, дочка в К (нулевой) класс начальной школы. Обе школы относятся к школьному округу Lake Washington School District (lwsd.org) в окрестностях Сиэттла, штат Вашингтон. В других округах и штатах всё может быть совсем даже не так. Что будет встреча с директором школы, на которой можно задать вопросы. Причём объявление о встрече звучит так (примерный перевод): Маффины с Минди! 21 ноября, с 9:30 до 10:30, миссис Мэллон б...
