What the heck are they teaching them these days? - Oreouk
http://oreouk.livejournal.com/246358.html
What the heck are they teaching them these days? September 16th, 2014. What the heck are they teaching them these days? Apparently the answer is lies. I mean, from a certain point of view a module on Greek myths is all imaginary, but that does not mean that you can make your myths up wholesale by mashing 3 other myths together. I'm feeling a visit to the school with a book of Greek myths coming on. September 16th, 2014 10:18 pm (UTC). I'm surprised there wasn't melting wax wings in there somewhere. It's ...

The Random But Timestamped Blurtings of P. Bristow Esquire. Conrep: Con27ilkin' (The 27th annual UK filk convention). A lovely weekend, and very therapeutic both for my gammy shoulder and my gammy soul. It was while I was bopping along to Graham and Becca Leathers in my chair, during their first guest slot on Saturday, that I realised I was getting the perfect gentle "loosening up" physio treatment for free! This was the first time in years that. I've managed to attend both the Saturday night and Sunday ...

Dear Blood Ties fans - Live the Dream
http://andpuff.livejournal.com/127807.html
Dear Blood Ties fans. Dear Blood Ties fans. And here's something I believe in my heart: No story can be great without closure. There must be closure, because it's the human condition.". Generally fairly cheerful myself. It takes a village. Movies seen in 2010. So, Paul posted this in comments (I checked, it really was him) and now I'm (finally - sorry got buried in the new book) reposting it here so it reaches a wider audience. OPEN LETTER FROM PAUL MCCONVEY, PRODUCER. Dear Blood Ties fans. Presumably it...

A not particularly unkind cut - Some days you eat the crab ...
http://phoebesmum.livejournal.com/952253.html
Some days you eat the crab . Some days the crab eats you. Stupid things I said. People who are other. People who are me. Diary of a Crabby Lady. A not particularly unkind cut. I did a teeny-tiny LiveJournal FL cut last night - or, rather, early this morning; mostly dead comms, plus one or two people who'd defriended me (the nerve of it! Actually, I'd met a couple of them in person, so it was. A bit wounding. I don't think I'm that obnoxious! Also, if you play WWF on Facebook . I have no tag for this.

A late appreciation of Filk - Demons. Website (nella darrens demon lair). Google Shared Items - web finds I found worthy to share and comment on. October 21st, 2014. A late appreciation of Filk. On a scale from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Wrecking Ball and Anaconda Filk usually doesn't try to touch you inappropriately and is pleasantly somewhere left to the middle. (I'm not talking about what some people do when they aren't on stage but about the songs and the performance.). 2014-10-21 11:46 am (UTC).

I think it is only fair to Keris to tell you all that I have had to drop out of doing publications because of bad health. This means that Keris is virtually running things at this time single handed. Soir is, thank goodness, still being Treasurer. I hope to take my share of the work at the Con. I can write stuff.

Question to the English native speakers - Seriously now

Question to the English native speakers - Seriously now. Apr 9th, 2014 08:04 am Question to the English native speakers. Question to the English native speakers:. I am to translate a slogan into English. Slogans are difficult because they must convey the same idea - not necessarily in the same words. The slogan in German is: "Pure Innovation". Would it be possible to use the straight translation or would "pure" in English somehow convey the idea of morrally correct or untouched? What do you think? Sounds...
