Ylog: Intention
http://www.youwang.me/2016/10/intention.html
You Wang's blog on natural science, computer science and artificial intelligence. Those two short ads, both have narrative structures that have a little surprise in the end, revealing depth of the story. One is sad, one is joy, and both can make people cry. Good stories don't have to be long. Deep thoughts don't have to be piles of books. The education I experienced always encourages memorizing more and more knowledge, not creativity. Creativity is more like a way of thinking. View my complete profile.

You Wang's blog on natural science, computer science and artificial intelligence. Notes and thoughts on Core Java, 10th Edition. When Java was born in 1995, there were lots of programming languages out there. Why did it succeed in the past 21 years? Java is a platform: it has a huge library (over 4000 classes), an execution environment that enables security, portability and GC. Simple: the syntax is a cleaned-up version of C syntax. Object-oriented: focuses on the data (object) and interfaces to that data.

You Wang's blog on natural science, computer science and artificial intelligence. Performance impact of cache. Chapter 6 The Memory Hierarchy. From Computer Systems: A Programmer's Perspective. Explains how important it is to understand the performance impact of cache usage. I did a little experiment and was surprised by the difference between cache-friendly codes and the opposite. Run the code below, and I get results like this:. Loop on row: 4.417000 ms. Loop on column: 15.215000 ms.

You Wang's blog on natural science, computer science and artificial intelligence. Install WordPress on Ubuntu Server 14.04. This article is based on this tutorial. And my own experience. I installed Ubuntu on VMware. Install Ubuntu Server 14.04, during installation, choosing "OpenSSH server" and "LAMP server" and Ubuntu will install that bundle automatically ( it will prompt setting MySQL root user password ). You Wang's blog on natural science, computer science and artificial intelligence. My understanding of Android app structure (main components and their relations). In general, a program/app can be viewed as two parts: instruction, and data. However, looking at the developer guide of Android, it's clearly more complex than the simple division of instruction and data. The major components of Android apps are:. Android app structure (main components and their relations) part 1. This breaks Microsoft's long-t...

Ylog: On Knowledge Architecture
http://www.youwang.me/2016/10/on-knowledge-architecture.html
You Wang's blog on natural science, computer science and artificial intelligence. There are 3 problems that in my mind are the basic problems in this universe:. 1 What are the fundamental rules that define how the universe exists? 2 What is the essence of living things? 3 What is the essence of consciousness? Given those premises, the knowledge architecture I want is (will update later if needed):. The theory of learning. Computation theory, computational complexity. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
