jillysheep: April 2011
http://jillysheep.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Books, life the universe. Saturday, 23 April 2011. Happy St George's Day; and books. Why can't we have a Bank Holiday for St George's Day? We're falling over Bank Holidays this Easter but I still think we should have one for our national saint. Death in the Physic Garden by Karen Lowe. Murder and garden design. I first read this a few years ago and enjoyed it but thought I would re-read it before I read the next one featuring Fern Green - Death in the Winter Garden. Gently Down the Stream by Alan Hunter.

jillysheep: New home for jillysheep
http://jillysheep.blogspot.com/2011/09/new-home-for-jillysheep.html
Books, life the universe. Sunday, 18 September 2011. New home for jillysheep. I am currently in the process of setting up jillysheep. On www.wordpress.com. I seem to have a lot of problems with blogger with it throwing me out from time to time and not letting me comment on other people's blogs even when signed into my account. It has been known to not let me amend my own posts and locks me in a loop of signing in and then throwing me out. So I decided to move house as it were. 19 September 2011 at 11:32.

False Life
http://www.zenmischief.com/flife.html
The wider experience of "false living" has multiplied since we discovered the joys of false food and has extended to cover all social groups. Don't get us wrong; we succumb to some of this too! Here are the constituent parts of "false living" we have identified thus far. It looks so deceptively like food that it fools Josette Public, and increasingly Josephine Publicus, into believing it is as good (or better) than the real thing. Why? Cheap cake which when eaten appears to be made of sawdust. Frozen Yor...

jillysheep: Latest reading
http://jillysheep.blogspot.com/2011/09/latest-reading.html
Books, life the universe. Thursday, 15 September 2011. The Psychic Tourist by William. Perhaps it is possible to predict the future but no one really knows. Fortunately he is able to eradicate his sister's fear of drowning and takes her out in a rowing boat to show her she is quite safe. This is an interesting read with some thought provoking findings especially in the field of science. Mansfield Revisited by Joan Aiken. Which is worthy of Jane Austen. Are growing between Wesley and his wife Pam and the ...

Books, life the universe. Sunday, 20 March 2011. Books read and reading. Death of a Prankster; Death of a Glutton and Death of a Travelling Man. I think Arabella is one of my favourites among Heyer's. Andrew Matthews - Happiness in Hard Times. Heir to the Darracott. Property indulges in a little bit of deception. H R F Keating. H R F Keating. jillysheep: Books and decorating
http://jillysheep.blogspot.com/2011/08/books-and-decorating.html
Books, life the universe. Thursday, 11 August 2011. I have been making a start on the decorating as well as doing other boring mundane chores which practically drive me demented but need to be done if we're not to live in a mess. I have practically finished the dining room/kitchen thanks to a very useful gadget - a Dulux. Paint Pod. It is basically an electrified roller system. Much quicker. Than using a roller normally as you don't have to stop and re-load the roller - you just press a button. The Merch...

jillysheep: November 2010
http://jillysheep.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Books, life the universe. Thursday, 25 November 2010. More books read and in progress. Dawn French's A Tiny Bit Marvellous. Barbara Erskine's Whispers in the Sand. Time-slip novel about Anna who goes on a Nile cruise to get over her divorce and gets involved in some unfinished business from thousands of years ago. I stopped reading this half way through when it first came out but decided to give it another go. I found it totally absorbing the second time round. Ruth Newman's Twisted Wing. Chick lit set a...

jillysheep: December 2010
http://jillysheep.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Books, life the universe. Monday, 27 December 2010. With Christmas out of the way . . . It's back to the reading. John Galsworthy - The Forsyte. All nine volumes of it. I haven't read it since the BBC dramatised the books back in the 1960s with Nyree. Dawn Porter and Irene and Kenneth More as young Jolyon. I find I am still seeing all those famous faces as I read! I do love these Golden Age detective story writers and it's great - form my point of view - that some at least are available as e-books. I lov...

jillysheep: October 2010
http://jillysheep.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Books, life the universe. Saturday, 30 October 2010. Busy Kindling . . . Is Kindling a verb created from a noun or is it just a new meaning for the word which means the wood you use to light a fire with? I seem to spend a lot of time reading at the moment and the novelty of my Kindle has not yet worn off. Recent reads in e-book have been:. Death in the Stocks. A body is found in the village stocks and leads Superintendent down some very murky byways. Wendy Holden - Gallery Girl. Footsteps in the Dark.
