Originally I planned to buy the car using my credit card. Gives me 30 days to pay off the balance (I always clear my credit card each month) and the theoretical added protection of purchasing on a credit card. Turns out the used car sales business passes on the credit card charges (3%) to the customer (that's me, I'm the customer!
