Anticipated for Fall 2014. The trade fair is Woman Inc’s most popular fundraiser to support crisis centre and shelter operations. The Crisis Centre was launched in 1985 with funds raised at the first Trade Fair and Exhibition – WOMAN ’84. July 18-20, 25-27. This play by Dahlia Harris, who partnered with Woman Inc. on her special project about domestic violence, showed at the Philip Sherlocke Centre, UWI MONA. Proceeds support the Crisis Centre. Commission on the Status of Women. March 10 to 21, 2014.

The Crisis Centres in Kingston and Montego Bay offer counseling via walk-in and telephone service for victims and survivors of rape, incest, sexual harassment in the workplace and domestic violence. There is a 24 hour hotline (Kingston only). The Crisis Centre in Kingston also provides temporary emergency accommodations at the shelter, mainly to serve women who experience extreme domestic violence. 4 Ellesmere Road, Kingston 10. Woman Inc. maintains a number of services:. Crisis Centre – provides counselling to hundreds of women who have been victims of domestic violence, rape, incest and domestic crisis. Crisis Shelter – The only Crisis Shelter is in Kingston and functions as a temporary residence for women in crisis. The location is kept confidential to protect the safety of the women.

Established in 1984, Woman Inc. is a voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental organisation committed to strengthening the position of Jamaican women through providing support services, public education, and advocating for legislative changes. There exists established referral links between Woman Inc. and the Family Court, the Police Rape Crisis Units, Medical and Legal Advisors, as well as other related services.
