19 MB video clip of. ZO 01A on testbench. This clip shows a number of starts as well as rpm changes of the Zoche aero-diesel running in our windtunnel testbench. The video was taken with a small camera mounted inside the windtunnel. You will note that the propeller is by far the dominating source of noise; there is hardly any mechanical engine noise or exhaust noise. (The engine is run without any muffler system). Dieses Bild zeigt sehr schön anhand der Größenverhältnisse zwischen dem existierenden Beiboot unten links und den anderen Booten, wie weit Fantasy und Wirklichkeit auseinander liegen. Der Kat und der Klassiker sind 16m, das rote Schiff 14m (und das kleine 2,80m). Ein Ausschnitt des obigen Bildes aus etwas anderem Blickwinkel. Zu diesem etwas artfremden "Fahrzeug" hat mich der geniale Diesel - Flugmotor der Münchner Firma Zoche. War zugegebenermaßen auch nicht ganz unbeteiligt.

Tuesday, November 20, 2007. A Tier 2 Bin 5 Rant. I saw this video. I thought they were supposed to be efficient. Guess not. Why is the cost of diesel fuel so fucking high at the pumps? It averages 3.57 per gallon while regular gas costs 3.13 where I am. Diesel is a byproduct of gasoline manufacture. Why would it cost more? Moreso, how can truckers and other large volume buyers be tolerating this? Anyone have any insights as to why this would be? Please enlighten me, I obviously am missing something.

Sunday, September 02, 2007. Cummins Exhaust Plus Shiny. Much nicer front end, and they touched up all the scratches and dents on the fenders and doors. They body shop apparently couldn't figure out how the stock badges went together, so they put a nice gap in between the Ram and Cummins badges. They did them both like that on the each side, so it doesn't look too bad. I guess it gives the truck a more customized look, and a nice emphasis on the fact that there's a 24 valve Cummins under the hood. 8:58 PM...
