Adventures in Babysitting (in Italy). So I’m the worst blogger ever…. Ok, so I’d like to think that the title of this post is an exaggeration but I’m super behind on the bloggingagain. This time I have a reason my computer charger has decided to die a slow and obnoxious death and most of the time I have to hold it in place and type one handed. Between the charger and the slow Internet in Nemi, most things relating to the computer are a total pain. Blogging until my arrival home on September 18. It has be...

London, Dublin and Home | La Dolce Vita

Adventures in Babysitting (in Italy). London, Dublin and Home. I’m finally back in the United States and thankfully not feeling too jetlagged. I guess the decision to spend our last night in Dublin by participating in a pub crawl and not sleeping was a good idea. Since I am gainfully unemployed I plan to start catching up on the blog this week; I’ve got some interesting stories and lots to say about my last few weeks in Italy, London and Dublin! Laquo; So I’m the worst blogger ever….

About | La Dolce Vita
https://chelseabarkema.wordpress.com/about
Adventures in Babysitting (in Italy). La Dolce Vita means “the sweet life” in Italian, and I figured it was a very apropos title for a blog about my sweet adventures in Italy this summer. Dolce Vita is also Odie’s. Show name (or alter ego) making it an even more perfect title for a project of mine. If you don’t know about Odie. And why he is the best/why I love him, then you are really missing out because he is quite the babe. This is so cool Chels! Snif, So Proud……. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

When in Rome… | La Dolce Vita

Adventures in Babysitting (in Italy). When in Rome…. While I have no clue what the names of the islands are, I do know this:. One island is volcanic and you can see lava flowing into the ocean. The same island also has natural pools that, because of the volcanic activity, are amazing for your skin. One island has caves that are white and made from pumice stone. Apparently they are truly spectacular to see. Laquo; When in Rome…Lisa visits! Date : July 12, 2009. Chelsea, This is truly OMG! I know the area ...

When in Rome…Lisa visits! (part 2) | La Dolce Vita
https://chelseabarkema.wordpress.com/2009/07/06/when-in-rome-lisa-visits-part-2
Adventures in Babysitting (in Italy). When in Rome…Lisa visits! Thursday morning Mom and I decided that we would go inside of the Duomo and then hike to the top of the dome to take in Florence one last time before heading back to Rome. While I was excited to see the inside of the Duomo, I was more excited to hike to the top. After fighting off claustrophobia and Mom’s slight fear of heights we finally made it up the 463 narrow, dark, windy steps! The view from the top was absolutely unbelievable! Since S...

Adventures in Babysitting (in Italy). When in Rome…Lisa visits! Last Sunday, I returned to Rome to spend the week in Marco and Paola’s apartment while the family is on a company vacation. I was very excited about this mainly because it gave my Mom the chance to fly to Rome to visit! We had a really wonderful week together, saw so much, and I was very sad to see her leave this morning. Piazza del Campidoglio, now home to the Mayors office. After breakfast, we walked to the Campo de’Fiori, which was closed...

Strange Future: August 2009

August 11, 2009. While working at the library yesterday I helped out a cool dude trying to upload photos onto his blog. Library security is pretty tight so he couldn't preview what he was uploading. Turned out him and his friends were biking across America. Last stop was Astoria, Oregon; where I lived for the last two years. They're at the end of their journey and will be taking a train back. Sorry Heidi. They won't be heading your way ;]. So check out Zoo Across America. August 9, 2009. A 2 Terabyte fla...

Today I did two things I swore I’d never do | La Dolce Vita
https://chelseabarkema.wordpress.com/2009/08/06/today-i-did-two-things-i-swore-id-never-do
Adventures in Babysitting (in Italy). Today I did two things I swore I’d never do. The only rule that I set for myself during this whole adventure was never say no to any opportunity or experience that came my way. Thus far, abiding by this rule has really only resulted in me trying lots of foods I probably would not normally eatI feel it may get me into some trouble while I’m in Dublin, but that’s for another blog post. 1 I ate spaghetti in public. 2 I rode a motorcycle. Anyone who has ever ridden with ...
