Quest for Ironman: July 2005
http://questforironman.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Just finishing is a victory! Sunday, July 17, 2005. Why do I call my bike Christine? Well it was just after I bought my bike from a friend of mine at work. He said that he hated to give the bike up, but had to as it was interfering with his home life. Interfering with his home life indeed. How could I turn it down? We agreed on a price. Posted by Fe Man @ 12:45 PM. Links to this post. Sunday, July 10, 2005. Good news is that I didn't hurt my shoulder any more. I'll take it for the first race. The Physica...

Quest for Ironman: December 2005
http://questforironman.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
Just finishing is a victory! Tuesday, December 27, 2005. In honor of week ten, I figured that I would share with you my ten commandments of gym etiquette. VI Thou Shall Not Treat The Gym As A Meat Market - Trying to score a date at the gym is a big no-no. Of course, the gym can be a great place to meet people who share your fitness interests, but most people are there to sweat, not flirt. See someone interesting? X Thou Shall Not Leave Sweat Puddles - Touching other people’s excretions is gross. So g...

Quest for Ironman: June 2006
http://questforironman.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Just finishing is a victory! Sunday, June 25, 2006. We did another long ride today just shy of 50 miles, but no running. During the middle of the ride, a section of our usual course was closed down to vehicle traffic, which made the ride better then normal. There seemed that there was an abundance of cyclists out today. It seemed like a convention or something like it and the funny thing was that these guys were all riding expensive bikes not what would be normally out for the Sunday ride. Might it have ...

Quest for Ironman: October 2005
http://questforironman.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Just finishing is a victory! Sunday, October 30, 2005. Second full week and at least the spinning is getting better. I am still way out of shape but at least the class is getting better. Lot’s of different class instructors to get varied workout styles. I seem to like Eric’s class and (I can’t seem to remember her name's) class. They seem to be the most enthusiastic about their classes and the music is good. Got to love techno for spinning music! Heavy Weight for the Week: 198.0. Links to this post.

Quest for Ironman: May 2006
http://questforironman.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Just finishing is a victory! Sunday, May 28, 2006. Which Exercise To Do First Cardio or Strength? The most popular question I hear around the gym is what should I do first. cardio or strength training? Heck I had this same question so I went around asking. This same view holds that strength training first will deplete the muscles stored carbohydrates, glycogen or sugar, and therefore will enhance fat burning during the cardio workout due to the lack of available sugar for fuel. If your fitness goals incl...

Quest for Ironman: March 2006
http://questforironman.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Just finishing is a victory! Sunday, March 12, 2006. Week Fifteen - Week Twenty. Good god, it's been six weeks since I last posted any updates. what the hell have I been doing? Well some of the blame is on the Florida vacation. I did no training for over ten days. I wouldn't have thought that taking an extended break from my workouts would have caused a great loss of fitness. Silly me, when I got back I had gained 3 pounds and my fitness was already showing signs of wear. Weights: 3 sessions of upper body.

Just finishing is a victory! Saturday, January 28, 2006. I would like to change my header to incorporate the following picture I made. It symbolized the bricks that need to be in place and the wall we will try to go past during a race. What do you think? Posted by Fe Man @ 8:46 PM. Links to this post. Monday, January 23, 2006. First week of the second quarter. It seems that this has been a continuation of last week. I have not gone to the gym and worked out as hard as I have in the past few weeks. There ...

Quest for Ironman: November 2005
http://questforironman.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Just finishing is a victory! Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Good Weekend of Rest Pays Off. My legs must have absorbed all that rest and fluid like a sponge. I rode hard and it didn't affect my legs at all. The ride was a hill workout and I rode in zone 4 most of the ride and capped my heart rate at 174 bpm. A new record for me. Quest for Ironman: August 2005
http://questforironman.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Just finishing is a victory! Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Another run right around the corner. Well it's fast approaching the end of another summer. What will be the end of the season event. marathon or a century ride? Hate to say it, but neither is in the mix for this year. I haven't trained hard enough to run a marathon and my body or wife will let me ride another century. Last one hurt my body real good. Nevertheless, that's another story. Posted by Fe Man @ 11:35 PM.
