Pondering, thoughts, views, my life and much more.: Four philosophical questions to make your brain hurt
http://banjika.blogspot.com/2008/11/four-philosophical-questions-to-make.html
Pondering, thoughts, views, my life and much more. Friday, November 21, 2008. Four philosophical questions to make your brain hurt. 1 SHOULD WE KILL HEALTHY PEOPLE FOR THEIR ORGANS? Suppose Bill is a healthy man without family or loved ones. Would it be ok painlessly to kill him if his organs would save five people, one of whom needs a heart, another a kidney, and so on? If not, why not? If in this case you should kill one to save five, why not in the previous, organs case? But then why not kill Bill?

For months, the media has been filled with accounts of one series of economic disasters after another all across the First World . Will I have a job in six months time? How can I afford to heat the house this winter? As a 19th century writer put it: “It’s a prospect to dizzy and appall.”. We all come into this world endowed with a certain type of character, intellectual ability, and physical attributes, ...

http://banjika.blogspot.com/2008/12/calculating-christmas-day.html
Pondering, thoughts, views, my life and much more. Thursday, December 25, 2008. The preoccupation we have with birthdays today is a relatively new phenomenon. Up to the time when the registering of births became obligatory it was quite common for people not to know the precise day, month, or even year in which they were born. In any case most of the historical focus in ancient times tended to be on the day a person died, particularly within Christianity. Historical and Biblical Witnesses. Would that we w...

Pondering, thoughts, views, my life and much more. Saturday, June 07, 2008. By OLd Man IF. People who don`t succeed have one distinguishing trait in common. They know all the reasons for failure and have what to believe to be airtight alibis to explain away their own lack of achievement. Some of these alibis are clever, and a few are justifiable by the facts. But alibis cannot be used for money. The world wants to know only one thing. HAVE YOU ACHIEVED SUCCESS? Most of the common used alibis. IF I had th...
