Fiberart Musings: The Installation. Part 1
http://fiberartmusings.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-installation-part-1.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. The Installation. Part 1. I've been thinking for a couple of years now about doing a three dimensional installation. The challenges involved in this are numerous, and I have a new respect for artists to work this way on a regular basis. I'm blogging about it as a personal reference of the stages I went through to develop the art. I ended up with a piece of metal from a fabricator, 2' x 4', that I wrapped in vinegar soaked cheesecloth to rust. Then watched it pop up again, even afte...

Fiberart Musings: Busy, But Not With Art
http://fiberartmusings.blogspot.com/2015/03/busy-but-not-with-art.html
Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Busy, But Not With Art. I have felt like I'm in limbo land the last few weeks. After returning from India, I had several projects to work on. I made a busy book for my grandson Holden, who's 1 1/2. I included zippers, buttons,. And his favorite, buckles. It's been so long since I've sewn 5/8 inch seems, I kept checking myself, sure I was doing everything wrong. I needed to shorten the pants on a few outfits I bought for the granddaughters, Riley and Marlee. Labels: A View Within.

Fiberart Musings: Portfolio 2010
http://fiberartmusings.blogspot.com/p/portfolio-2010.html
Early in 2010 we began a remodel on our home that turned our world upside down for about six months. I photographed the process. While we were denied access to most of our living spaces, my studio remained untouched and thus became my sanctuary. The construction series is my interpretation of the chaos going on around me. Each Piece 36" x 12". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Twelve by Twelve: The Book. Portfolio 2009 - 2005. Twelve by Twelve Colorplay Series. Twelve by Twelve Themes Series. And Sew It Goes.

http://fiberartmusings.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-empty-space.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. That's the title of this piece. It's another is the series I'm working on involving loss. This side view shows that it is about 6 inches deep, including the 3/4 inch thick felt I mounted it on. A new grandson arrived this week. Jack Norman joined older brother Holden. Our daughter Julie lives in Big Sur, a very idyllic place. About a mile in from the ocean. On a dirt road. It's a nice place to visit. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Twelve by Twelve: The Book. Fiberart Musings: Artist Talk
http://fiberartmusings.blogspot.com/2015/07/artist-talk.html
Tuesday, July 7, 2015. It seems like I only blog when I have an upcoming event, which is not good at all, so I'm going to try to get back into blogging once a week. That being said, I do have an upcoming event! I'm going to be giving an artist talk at the Monday, August 3rd at 7pm at the Monterey Peninsula Quilt Guild. My talk is "Finding What's Meaningful Through Experimentation", which is going to focus on how I was able to figure out what I love to do. Labels: A View Within. Twelve by Twelve: The Book.
