Vegan Showdown: Eating During the Storm
http://veganshowdown.blogspot.com/2012/11/eating-during-storm.html
Embracing the challenges of the American vegan lifestyle. Friday, November 2, 2012. Eating During the Storm. Hurricane Sandy came and went in Baltimore. I'm very fortunate. Except for some leaks here and there, and a loss of income, my household was unaffected. It was, and still is pretty chilly here though. 15 oz tomato sauce. 1/2 head roasted cheddar cauliflower. 1/2 head broccoli, chopped. 1 roasted red pepper. Naturally, I also made cookies. I realize now that I began to make good on my promise.

So, I'm doing a neat little buddy-accountability-texting-thing with the lovely. It passed (for the moment) but not before I (a) did some serious praying to the Skinny Chick in the sky. It's 24 hours and seven pages on, and I'm still journaling. September 2, 2011 at 2:31 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Height: 5 feet 1 and 1/2 inches. View my complete profile.

HERBIVORE FOX [travels far and wide]: April 2009
http://vulpesvegetus.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
HERBIVORE FOX [travels far and wide]. Vegan fox is vegan. Also has sharp teeth for tearing into berries. Saturday, April 4, 2009. Good day to you. Hello, let me introduce myself to yourself. I have quit stealing eggs from the farmer; I quit stealing his chickens long before, but now I’ve gone the extra mile and decided to boycott the whole mess entirely. The roosters tell me it’s working, as his production has gone down, now that my demand isn’t influencing his supply. Have you met a verbose fox before?

HERBIVORE FOX [travels far and wide]. Vegan fox is vegan. Also has sharp teeth for tearing into berries. Thursday, October 15, 2009. New times are afoot. This place will get a jolt back to life soon, with more cooking. Because cookery, I've recently found, produces upon my face a grin bigger than the Cheshire Cat's. Until then, here are some photos of TASTY SWEETS I MADE. NOM NOM NOM NOM. Also check out the project I started with five friends: COOKING FROM 1,000 VEGAN RECIPES. Links to this post.

Food: Thinking about it. Looking at it. Trying to decide whether or not I deserve it. Thursday, February 24, 2011. I am coming apart; unravelling like the hem on a pair of cheap polyester pants. I waiver between this constant low level thrum of anxiety that manifests itself as a ball of iron in the pit of my stomach, to moments of heart-knocking existentialist terror, and back again. There seems very little point to it all, some days. Very little point. I'll take B for $200.00, Alex. I am not ill.".

Vegan Showdown: Curry and Cabbage
http://veganshowdown.blogspot.com/2012/11/curry-and-cabbage.html
Embracing the challenges of the American vegan lifestyle. Thursday, November 15, 2012. The description of the Butternut Squash and Green Beans in a Coconut-Milk Curry. In 5 Spices, 50 Dishes. Suggests using the leftover butternut squash in a raita, which is a lot like a salad or relish, and is meant to be an accompaniment to an entree in keeping with Ayurvedic cooking practices. So I flipped to the appropriate chapter in the book, just to take a peak, and I noticed the Tangy Shredded Cabbage Salad. The a...

Vegan Showdown: Even More 5/50
http://veganshowdown.blogspot.com/2012/11/even-more-550.html
Embracing the challenges of the American vegan lifestyle. Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Is going to derail my Indian cuisine kick. I didn't really mean to start off my cookbook exploration. By focusing so heavily on one book, but I got carried away meal planning last week. Plus, 5 Spices, 50 Dishes. Has proven to be so user-friendly, and has yielded such tremendously delicious results that it's been hard to put it down. In fact, the super quick and easy recipes have been for breakfast most times. Now I hav...

Vegan Showdown: Vegan MoFo 29: Apple Crisp and Waiting for the Storm
http://veganshowdown.blogspot.com/2012/10/vegan-mofo-29-apple-crisp-and-waitng.html
Embracing the challenges of the American vegan lifestyle. Monday, October 29, 2012. Vegan MoFo 29: Apple Crisp and Waiting for the Storm. We're all waiting for the storm now. As part of my disaster preparedness plan, I used up my 4 lbs of apple to make the crisp recipe from Vegan Pie in the Sky. Despite having had this book for about a year now, this is only the second recipe I've made from it. Also, the line at the pickle stand was finally not some twisted waiting game, so we got wasabi pickles! Awww, y...

Veganomics: Cheesy Broccoli Rice Casserole
http://veganomics.blogspot.com/2008/04/cheesy-broccoli-rice-casserole.html
Class is now in session. Thursday, April 10, 2008. Cheesy Broccoli Rice Casserole. Cheezy Sauce to give it another chance. The important thing to remember I think when trying out cheese alternative is to NOT think of them as cheese substitutes, but as their own thing. I decided to try this sauce out because it does not call for nutritional yeast or any soy ingredients. I altered it slightly to increase to give it a sharper taste. Yum! Coming up: tortilla soup and "chicken" enchiladas! 1,000 Vegan Recipes.
