http://jentorressculpture.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Artist Statement and Bio. Monday, October 7, 2013. In Progress, Forever. The last work I showed progressed to this-. But I knew it wasn't finished, still felt it was lacking something. So I made some dummy parts that progressed to final glue ups (solid laminations)-. And now I feel satisfied I have the right form-. I have started on the next forms, which are of course even bigger-. I am getting better at making them and faster too, although I did learn that our local hardware store, Economy Supply.

http://jentorressculpture.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Artist Statement and Bio. Saturday, November 16, 2013. Almost There, But Not Quite. I have made progress. It's been over a month and I am sad (sort of) they are not finished. However, they represent a whole new body of work and for me the language is exciting and new, I want to learn it thoroughly as I progress into these new works. Yesterday I had one of those BAM! Moments, and the fun times ensued. The work flowed, the solutions flowed, the whole session was productive. New sculpture. sculpture. I am a...

http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2011/10/my-sewing-roomproject.html
Saturday, October 22, 2011. My sewing room.project. Thought I'd share with you what I've been up to these past few days.amazing what some time off from work produces, besides very sore muscles from moving things I should not be moving! It was cramped, alongside a single bed.but I loved my little corner of the world. Did alot of staring out the back window instead of sewing.inspiration? Ya, maybe.right. I've already taken my machines up and will take a pic when it's set up. Oct 22, 2011, 7:20:00 PM. But I...

Monday, November 21, 2011. Jean Jacket M5860 done. It's complete. I'm pretty happy with the results, although the pockets look huge in this picture. The color is a dark Army green, which my camera did not pick up. I topstitched it in a light green. The buttons are from my stash and as I said before, the fabric was given to me.bonus! Next up, another blazer for work.that is, when I go back! I love a jean jacket. Olive green is a good color for one too. Nice job! Nov 25, 2011, 7:13:00 AM. SEW MUCH TO SEW.

http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2011/12/butterick-jacket-and-vest-done.html
Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Butterick Jacket and Vest Done. Amongst the fabric my sister gave me, she also gave me patterns. In the box I found this jacket and thought it was really cute. Not sure how old it is or if they even print it anymore. I decided on the red one. I added about two inches to the hemline. This picture is up close so you can see the fabric better. Even if I wear a different color top, no one will even know. I just got a new job.so one more thing to wear! Dec 6, 2011, 7:48:00 PM. Widge...

http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2015/02/brother-pe500-embroidery-machine.html
Sunday, February 1, 2015. Brother PE500 Embroidery machine. On an impulse, I purchased this machine last Fall. Not sure of it, the jury is still out. I bought it refurbished from Amazon. Works amazing. But, did I really need it? NO Guess I needed a "happy" in my life, living with someone for 40 years, then BAM alone, will do it every time. Oh well, guess it makes it unique. It's for my grandsons.I still have to put a backing on it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Little Sewing Alcove.

My Little Sewing Alcove: It's been 3 years.....
http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2015/01/its-been-3-years.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. It's been 3 years. Hello all. It's been a long time since I've posted. A lot has happened in these three years. I want to start sewing and writing again. I always had so much fun creating garments and reading about yours. In these past years, I lost my husband and best friend to an illness. That was the hardest thing I've gone through. A month before our 40th wedding anniversary.never made it. Of course all the while listening to some good tunes. Feb 3, 2015, 8:56:00 AM. Gerti...

My Little Sewing Alcove: Hobo Bag - done!
http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2011/10/hobo-bag-done.html
Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Hobo Bag - done! I had this piece of gold paisley print hanging around for years. I thought it matched nicely. It's hard to see, but I put in a pocket on the right for a cell phone. I skipped the larger pocket on the other side. Took it outside for a brighter picture. It's actually alot bigger than this picture shows. In fact it's big enough to throw in a magazine, lunch and wallet and use it as a tote bag for work! Oct 19, 2011, 7:45:00 AM. My Little Sewing Alcove: More alterations...creating lining for an unlined jacket....
http://littlesewingalcove.blogspot.com/2011/11/more-alterationscreating-lining-for.html
Friday, November 4, 2011. More alterations.creating lining for an unlined jacket. I took a tissue from a pattern that I will never use.laid it over the jacket back and poked holes around the armsyches and side seam.then cut it out from that. Then I laid it over the jacket to make sure I sized it correctly. I did cut it a tad larger just in case of error. Just two pieces.that's it! She didn't want the sleeves done. She's happy and I'm happy. Super simple! What a very nice friend you are! Sew Much Fabric, ...
