Saturday, January 29, 2011. Guess who will be home for 2 weeks of needed R&R? Our Soldier girl Dee! I am dreaming about it every night. She has been gone for about 218 days so she is half way through her deplolyment! We miss her so much and are so proud of her! Although she is gone to Afghanistan, we think about her every day, and everywhere we are. Here Karen bravely did a jump photo under the Hollywood sign in honor of Dee. It was fun. Friday, March 4, 2011. Dee 2 week R&R. It was over almost as quickly as it began. My sweet soldier girl was here and gone. 2 weeks was just enough time to get in lots of fun things and we miss her so much already. We waited almost 2 hours for her to arrive at the airport, due to not knowing her flight number, but the departure time from Dallas-Fort Worth. Thursday, April 29, 2010. We went to Georgia to visit Cousin Lisa and her family. She was only 3 hours away from Darleen while at Ft Jackson, SC and they became her second family. We had such a great time in 4 short days! We went looking for silly bands for Katie, went to Wal-mart, cooked, ate at an awesome Mexican restaurant, made tie-dye shirts, went shopping at Charming Charlies, drove through Atlanta, and ate at The Varsity. I found my cabbage patch twin! We found some sweet trucks on they way back.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Time for an update! I was talking to Dee yesterday and she said "why haven't you posted a blog in a while? Because i've been busy with school and waiting on some pictures from Darleen and Samantha. So here we go! On 911.10 Darleen and her 650th company was assigned to guard the flags. In honor of it, she recived a flag and a certificate (yet to be mailed home) and we are so proud of her. On 1010.10 she got to go to the shooting range and kick some butt! Sunset at Newport Beach.
