Tomorrow is the first day of a new school year. We will have ourselves a child at the high school, a child at the junior high school, 2 children at the elementary school, and 1 in Kindergarten at the elementary school. Freckles and a Tippy Bike. Yesterday we were at Walmart buying items to repair kid's bikes. Grace spotted a little training-wheeled bike and asked if I'd buy it. You already have one at home," I told her. So as we pulled in the driveway she unbuckled and waited, anxiously scanning the garage. I pulled this little gem down from its hook with two flat tires. Yesterday marked 9 years since Scott's brain surgery. My Mom pointed out the other day that there have been more years since the brain surgery than before the brain surgery in our marriage. I immediately argued that, but then realized she was right. How could that be? My husband is a patient man. My husband thinks of his family before himself. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Summer Vacation on the Oregon Coast. We took a trip to the Oregon Coast with Bill's family. We had such a wonderful time and did so many fun things. It was so hard to leave and come back to the real world. The beach was incredible and we spent most of our time just walking it and collecting sand dollars and shells. I wish it never had to end! He was accepted as an intern in a place that is easy for him to get to, with a quiet office of his own, with a boss who endured a traumatic injury due to a skeleton accident (you know the Olympic sledding). I am so proud and grateful. Yay, I love reading blogs but have gotten really out of the habit myself. Saturday morning while washing I noticed the machine was leaking large amounts of water out the front door. Oh dear. I put a bucket underneath it and mopped up the floor and went on. When the load was done I took a look inside the machine. I figured the rubber seal wasn't sealing right. I guess I had a burst of self assurance and went online to look up how to take out that seal. This could end poorly. When the UPS man pulled up on Thursday I squealed with joy (just ask Ginger I was on the phone with her).

We've got a whining/crying problem. It happens daily, usually around chore/homework/reading/piano time. He's generally such an easy going, quiet, happy kid.
