In a sugar-coated weird way, the half-pint size kid grabbed the attention of the masses. In a cleverly orchestrated collaboration with World (a long shot from it's initial concept World industries), Shexxx hit the mainstream and started his road to glory by collecting trophys and medals at all the major Extreme events.

During a period when skateboarding was seeing most of it's limits pushed in the sun bmeached schoolyards of Southern California, Ricky Oyola and few of his pals cracked heads when they put Philadelphia on the map. Philly boasted a haven for street skating with Love Park. But Ricky isn't happy skating one spot. No. Ricky led the grimy inner city youth. And assaulting poles and access ramps.

And coverage in every magazine. It was the golden years for the young buck from nowhereville. In true rock 'n' roll fashion, Chad lost the plot.

Located beneath the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank has sheltered British skateboarding since the early 70's thanks to it's assortment of banks, stairs, walls and ledges. In actual fact, the Southbank is the common name given to the area of Thames riverside that houses various concert and art buildings, but today the public space is equally known for its skateboarding cultists. Again even if the future of Southbank remains uncertain.

Every skater should skate an empty pool at least once in his or her lifetime. Pools come in all shapes and sizes. And learning how to carve is already one of the trickiest steps to master. About how somebodies skateboarding can be 'gay', but if a skater actually admits to being attracted by the same sex, then he is shunned and avoided.
