OK, so we were being a little cheeky on the home page. We skipped the part where Wikipedia actually describe the flashmobs as unusual and. Performance in a public place. Seemingly pointless… perhaps. Everyone in Nillumbik was able to be a part of this project: as a participant, a spectator, a filmmaker, an organiser or a passerby. It was an opportunity to find out about community and arts groups in Nillumbik, meet new people, do something extraordinary and shake up the old routine.

In fact, we did 52 Flashmobs in 50 Weeks! We sang 16 songs. We danced 19 dances. We rode 2 trains. Our youngest mobber was 2 and our oldest was 82. We mobbed the library 3 times, the supermarket 7 times and the gym once. We joined the circus once and covered ourselves with mud once. There was 1 orchestra and 7 choirs involved. We worked with 21 schools. There were 897 people who mobbed. We couldn’t count the number of onlookers or the number of smiles but they were well into the thousands.
