The personal site of l. john ribar. This is a recipe from my mom – she used to make it when we were growing up. Tried it recently and it’s still just as good. And remember – no skimping on the BUTTER! Put 1 lb haddock. In 6 quarts of water. With 1/4 cup sugar. And 1/2 tsp of salt. Boil for 20 minutes. Flake pieces off, dip in melted butter, and smile. The Girls’ Blogs. Erica: Dawn of the Rockin’ Mom. Yes, it’s cool, they both get called the same way 😉. 1 cup light Karo (corn syrup). 1 cup peanut butter.

Guacamole Overload Heaven | Awaken Refreshed
http://www.johnribar.com/2010/08/guacamole-overload-heaven
The personal site of l. john ribar. Okay, I’ll admit that I ate too much here. But Los Tres Amigos, in Gulfport, MS, does that to me. I had been here before, and remembered the guacamole tacos, but thought they were kinda small. So I ordered two, along with a guac dip for my chips, and a 12 piece shrimp cocktail. Then the tacos came, about twice the size I remembered. Delicious filled with guacamole, a good pile of cheeses, and some diced tomatoes. I probably should have stopped eating there. Hybrid view...

Starting a workout regime | Awaken Refreshed
http://www.johnribar.com/2013/01/starting-a-workout-regime
The personal site of l. john ribar. Starting a workout regime. Sure, I’m supposed to lose 100 pounds. I join Weight Watchers, and lose 15 pretty quickly. But then the holiday season takes over, the pounds fluctuate, and not much else happens. I just like food too much! If I can keep it up, I think it will make the difference. 100 pounds is still a long way to go. Posted January 7, 2013 by John Ribar in category Life. New Site Moving Along. 52 Stories | Awaken Refreshed
http://www.johnribar.com/52-stories
The personal site of l. john ribar. Here are the stories I wrote for the (now extinct) 52stories website. The process was as follows:. At the beginning of the week, a picture was posted. This provided an “assignment”. You had until Friday night to write a story related to the picture. This provided a “deadline”. Unfortunately, after the first 20 weeks, the site went away. Perhaps I’ll revive it some day – it was a lot of fun, and a good way to get people writing. 104 Black and White. 108 How Many Stories.

The personal site of l. john ribar. New Site Moving Along. The new site is moving well in Ruby and Rails. I’ve got the blog and wiki working, and working on some styling using the Foundation framework from Zurb. I also have a list of recipe PDFs the builds automatically from the recipes I have uploaded (yes, these are food recipes, not programming ones 😉. I have a lot more I want to do, but I think it is nearly ready for some early testing “very soon now”. Starting a workout regime. June 6, 2014. Starti...

The personal site of l. john ribar. WordPress likes to add a Hello World blog entry for you, to get things started. I don’t really think it’s necessary, as this is really just a placeholder for now anyway. I’m working on the grand master website, and it will be here soon. In the meantime, hang in there. It’ll be worth the wait 😉. Posted January 5, 2013 by John Ribar in category Announcements. Starting a workout regime. NAGRoad – Journeys of the North American Gypsy. I’m listening to. June 6, 2014.

The personal site of l. john ribar. Short story of my tattoo. No, I didn’t really get a tattoo. I got a henna tattoo at Boothbay Harbor as part of my memorial to Lesa. It includes a white bracelet that says one who soars (given to me in Lesa’s honor by Gina at the writing retreat), a henna tattoo of the Chinese symbol for eternity (see here. And my wedding ring, with Lesa’s nickname engraved inside. Posted August 5, 2010 by John Ribar in category Life. NAGRoad – Journeys of the North American Gypsy.

The personal site of l. john ribar. I’m marking all the original NAGRoad stuff with that category, so it will be easy to find them, and eventually I’ll make a special page to collect them alone. But for now, expect things to show up at the bottom of the list… in their correct date location. And to let you know how things are, here’s a new picture of Joy and me from Christmas!
