Tuesday, 20 March 2012. French Breadcrumbs and Croutons. A tip from France. These are not made the same as British Breadcrumbs, as I live in France I use French Bread. Which, by the way, doesn’t go mouldy as British bread does so it's quite safe to leave old off-cuts or ends of baguettes to dry for a week or two. When totally dry, cover the bread with a tea towel and bash it with a rolling pin until it's chunky. (A good therapy on a bad day! Store in an airtight container until required. Inspired by the ...

Tuesday, 28 August 2012. Becky at Clean White Paper. And I decided to do a craft share and make papier maché bowls. I haven't done papier maché since I was at school so I was quite excited at trying it again! I decided to use a PVA/water mix (two thirds PVA glue to one third water). Using a balloon as a mould I simply started dipping the strips of newspaper into the glue mixture, wiping off the excess and laying them onto the balloon. I created two layers at a time, then let the paper dry overnight.

Monday, 25 June 2012. We used to have rhubarb growing in our garden before we moved and I loved thinking up ways to used this free abundance of loveliness. Now we've moved, I no longer have rhubarb growing in my garden. Thankfully my in-laws have more than they can consume and kindly brought me some last time they came to visit. One of my favourite things to do with rhubarb is schnapps. so here's how I made it. A large container for infusing the mix. 3 cups of granulated sugar. 1 75cl bottle of vodka.

Friday, 20 September 2013. I've found a quiet hour to myself and would like to tell you about our house. We bought it back in April. I'm so glad we had an overlap with our rented house as this house was DISGUSTING. The previous owner clearly did not own a vacuum cleaner or a cleaning cloth. My Dad came over from France and spent a couple of weeks with us to get it into a state suitable for a family to live in. (Huge thank you to my Dad! It still needs some finishing touches, but we're getting there!

Well, we bought a trailer for our bikes and have been cycling around the country park. To do the Advanced Driving course. I have researched the Institute of Advanced Motorists driving course. And plan on doing it over the summer. To learn a new craft. To make Elderflower wine. To complete the dolls house.
