Chilenos vs. Gringos-well, we held on as long as we could, but it was inevitable, in the end the chilenos kicked our butts! We had a lot of fun though. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://jackandjo.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Jack and Jo in Chile. What we've been up to lately. We've been pretty busy since we got back from our summer trip in February. Our German friends Thomas and Kathryn, who we bumped into various times while we were traveling, came to stay with us in Vina for a few days, before heading north. We showed them around Vina and Valparaiso - here we are on one of the ascensores. A typical "asado" (roast or barbeque) at Clay and Petra's party. Here's Jo in the living room- see the balcony? For Chile it is huge!

After almost 11 months in Chile we decided it was finally time to get up to the Andean ski resorts surrounding Santiago and get a taste of the high mountain snow that they are known for. Our first day was at the area's fanciest resort, Valle Nevado, located some 3,000 meters above sea level! A group of beautiful Siberian Huskies including a very cute pup were on display at the lodge. Jack and Jo in Chile: August 2007
http://jackandjo.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Jack and Jo in Chile. A Day in Horcon. Then we headed to Horcon, a small coastal town best known for its hippie community and nude beaches, but also well known for its incredible empanada and seafood restaurants. We ordered a round of jaiba and queso empanadas (crab and cheese), which run about $2 each. Delicious! After the meal we headed to Playa Cau Cau to watch the sun set. We got some dreamy photos and it was a great end to the day. We will definitely be back there again soon. DJ Set at Cafe Journal.
